12/23/08 I got a real good christmas present when My cousin ran him straight to my lucky A$$ at five yards. 18 pellet pattern the size of a baseball on his shoulder dropped him in his tracks. Estimated the weight at 180# and he was rutted clean out. Carried 4"+ mass all the way up. Scored 115 3/8". Ide rather be lucky than good any day! He's gonna look good on the wall.

Went down the river friday night to make a hunt sat morning and evening. My cousin jumped some pigs in the morning but couldn't get a shot. We made a quick midday creep on a little flock of geese and killed 5. Found some good spots to sit in the evening and at 4:30 I shot the 300 lb Boar at 10 yards and at 5:00 I shot this 160lb seven point. Hes not a monster but its my biggest buck so.... Read More

Made two hunts during the front that came through right before christmas and did pretty well. The canvasback were unbelievable. Ok numbers of ducks that week but they are mostly all gone. Not sure if its pressure, feed, or the heat. Probably all of the above. I also killed a bobcat hunting in South Carolina. Weighed 15.5 Lbs. Another good ole' Venice Trip

Went down the river thursday night to hunt friday, sat, and sunday. Fog held us down friday morning so we scouted for an evening hunt. Found some ducks and shot our limit before sunset. 18 ducks, 3 pintail, 6 greys, 7 widgeon, 2 teal. Well after 3 years of Bow hunting harder than most seeing tons of deer and nothing to show for it but two misses and a bunch of bad luck and "one step from a shot" situations I decided something needed to change. Went to Venice last Thursday to get in a little fishing before School, LSU and SAINTS football, and all the hunting seasons roll around. We found em' pretty quick in the morning and we were back to the dock by 9:00 am. Drank plenty of beers and kicked it with my buddies. Can't wait till duck and deer seasons. Headed to Venice once again to get in a little fishing. Well the redfish are sworming down there and this weekend we managed to put a dozen nice trout in the boat. All in the 2-5 pound range. My buddy cleaned 7 of them before I could get a snapshot. Second day we picked up a quick limit of reds and we were back to the dock at 7:30 and back to town by 9:30. Can't Beat that! Here are a the last two hunts I made this duck season. Unlike what I have heard from many people, I had a great season. Teal season produced consistent limits if you could shoot, the first split was good in the beginning and tailed off, and the second split was ridiculous until the birds got smart and wouldn't come in unless you were in a great spot or had great weather. Here are a couple of late season hunts made down in Venice. Hunting was sometimes slow but we managed to kill a good bit of ducks every hunt. We also made a goose hunt and did pretty well. Overall its been a pretty good season for me, lots of scouting, moving aound, and plenty of good times with some good people.

The hunting has been pretty decent in Venice so far this season. Enough ducks to shoot limits, but you gotta find the ducks and avoid the people. Opening morning I had 2 guys watch us hunt for an hour then blind up 200 yards from us, throw out 50-60 Dekes and 2 Mojo Mallards. He shot once and missed. He also scared all the ducks to us. Went out saturday and sunday Aug 11th-12th and ended up filling the box both days. Snapper, Redfish, trout, and a couple flounder each day. Caught the redfish in about 20 minutes both days. All in all, a good weekend with some good people.

Got this picture on my camera at the beginning of the season and i'm pretty sure this cat was shot by one of the members on this lease. Some people may think it looks like an owl but I'm positive its a cat, the scanned picture just isn't as clear. Pretty crazy that this deer has got no idea what creepin' above its head
