Fishing in Leeville / Golden Meadow in Southeast Louisiana
i was wondering if anyone has seen or knows where to find any image showing the proposed new launch and parking lot there?

i have never seen any depictions of what it is supposed to look like and just figured a project of this magnitude MUST have a drawing or depiction or the project somewhere.

can anyone out there post a picture or link to anything about the new launch?

Boats in Louisiana
this is a great video that talks about a huge problem most people aren't aware of or know how to recognize a safe boat from a hazardous boat

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JbaTyDqitSM&feature=player_embedded

commercial boats are great and they serve a great purpose but you have to understand just what ''commercial'' means as far as safety

is anyone still using these things?

I haven't seen then being used for trolling the tressels which would be the ideal conditions to use such a thing and I was wondering if everyone has thrown then into a drawer somewhere never to be used again.

anybody out there have success in using them on a regular basis fishing salt water or would even go buy another one of those things today?

Kayak Fishing in Leeville / Golden Meadow in Southeast Louisiana
I have a bad back (several back surgeries) and I am not very flexible at all so even getting down on or near the ground to get in and out of the kayak would be an issue for me but I think its something that's doable for me but i'm sure i'll end up wet and muddy doing it.

but then what? how is the kayak for comfort when you cant bend or twist at the waist very well and I will cramp up after.... Read More

tough day at catfish lake today

I got a late start (9:00) and really only went fishing because I had appointments in golden meadow to meet with some contractors that morning so I brought the boat and hoped for the best. well it wasn't to be as it was steady 15 mph and gusty so even though the water wasn't as dirty as I expected there was no action anywhere and no tide as well so at.... Read More

i saw a brief clip on cox sports television about this weeks cold front causing the white shrimp to make the move to the gulf on mass and shrimp boats were all catching huge amounts with decks overflowing with shrimp (they showed one picture of a shrimp boat with shrimp overflowing the decks) and said one guy had supposedly 1600 lbs of shrimp in just one net haul.

yet i cant find a story.... Read More

went fishing yesterday and although i avoid weekends like the plague i took brother inlaw out to CFL and found some decent action in a few locations around CFL then we happened on a set of birds and found a nice school of 14 inch trout.

we put about 15 specks in the boat and around 20 whites when here comes two complete morons one following the other coming accross the lake and even though.... Read More

once again i need a new trolling motor battery and im looking for a cheaper option.

i have a 12 volt 55 lb thrust trolling motor so i only need one battery and its great because it saves money on the motor and batteries and its also all i need for a 15ft flatboat.

weight and limited space in the boat is another secondary concern as well.

here is the question, wouldnt a simple regular.... Read More

strange to see not a single fish report in over two weeks for the ''fishing'' forum which is mainly used for recreational fishermen reports and not charter boat reports and advertising for the most part.

i thought, so whats going on here, when the only new posts seen there were the updates on the sinkhole

so i tried to post in the ''fishing'' forum only to find out you can no longer post.... Read More

I have fixed the issue
As you may know, users can submit to contests by adding a post to the appropriate contest forum. The contest forums are no different than regular forums except that posting to the forum can be turned on or off automatically.

Well, someone went into the system and configured a contest but mistakenly added an inactive Fishing Video contest entry using the Fishing category as the main category. I removed the faulty contest entry and everything is back to normal.

well this is an unofficial but accurate report on the clovelly launch situation and where it stands after talking to a few of my friends who talked to the owners (or whoever speaks for them) when they bought passes to clovelly.

this is what they were told:

the owners have no interest in talking with the parish any more, they are done, period, end of sentence and even if the parish signs.... Read More

im thinking of using small little white trout and chopping them into 1 inch chunks and fishing for redfish with them.

i know redfish love live or dead shrimp and they love cut up mullet, but i dont know if redfish would like cut up white trout, have you ever heard of that?

well the launch hasnt changed much at all from the picture below and it wont get cleaned up anytime soon without your help.

i called the town of golden meadow to see when or if there were any plans about cleaning up the boat launch and they said it was a grey area between the town of golden meadow and lafourche parish as to who is responsible for the.... Read More

im wondering if anyone has any diagrams or plans for making your own floating cocahoe minnow traps to put out for catching your own bait when at camp?

im not talking about those little basket traps you buy that catch a handfull of minnows but im looking to build one designed to catch 50-100 minnows or more for the whole crew to use without buying (expensive) and setting out 2 dozen basket.... Read More

ok i dont know if its always been that way but it seams there is never that many falling tides in the mornings except for winter time fishing. i only started paying very close attention in the last couple of years and it seams very strange since most common folk tales are fishing is best in summer because of warm weather yet the tides dont support that.

i can catch good on incoming tides.... Read More

looks like the public airing of the despute has come frome both sides now and the parish is requesting both sides let the lawyers work this out in private now.

its shocking to see the amount of money the parish has spent on and around the clovelly site

well its official, the cloverly land owners were not negotiating in good faith and put language in the contract to make it a basic poison pill the parish goverment can never agree to.

they actually put language in there demanding the parish be responsible for ALL the land the land company owns, including land in other areas in other locations completely seperate and not connected to.... Read More
