This isn't a report, but figured someone out there would have some input. Most on this site are truck guys anyway. I have a 2011 Z71, 5.3 V8. Just turned 60,000 miles, so I'll need a new set of tires in the not too distant future. OEM tires are Bridgestone Dueler RH-S, P265/65 R18. These tires are 31.5' tall. Guys, my power pole remotes are not working. I replaced the battery in each one, and the little red indicator light on each remote lights up, but the unit will not deploy when you hit the button. My uncle has an old Colt single shot shotgun that he wants to have restored. It flooded during Katrina. The rust on the barrel is minor, but the rust on the reciever is a lot worse. He is mainly looking to have it reblued, and possibly have the wood refinished. Does anyone know of a good gunsmith on the northshore within a reasonable distance from Slidell? Guys, I recently bought a new Chevy truck. It came with a drop in bed liner from the factory. I would hate to pull out the drop in liner and get the bed sprayed since it's already there, but I want something to cover the bed rails. I have a Skeeter ZX20 that I have run for a few years. The boat handles good in a chop for a 20' rig. A buddy of mine told me that installing a set of hydraulic trim tabs would really make a noticeable difference. I've never had a boat with hydraulic tabs before, only fixed position tabs on a flat before. Is a 20' boat too small for the tabs to make a difference? I only see them on larger bay.... Read More

Guys, my brother in law shot a mature buck this weekend and we noticed something strange while cleaning it. The buck weighed 245 lbs, but had a poor rack; pretty much a big cow horn with a crab on one end. This deer had 2 teets on each side of his package, like a doe would have. We've never noticed this on a buck before, and we're wondering if he was some sort of hermaphrodite or something..... Read More

I'm looking for some first hand feedback on the Ultra Rest made by Quality Archery Designs. Also, the Hunter model Ultra Rest is $55, and the upper end Pro Model is $135. Is there enough difference between the two to justify buying the upper end model? I am leaning towards the Hunter version. Thanks in advance for any input.

Guys, I guy I work with is selling a set of Interco Swamp Lite ATV tires. The first question I have is are they good tires? The size is AT 26 x 12.00-12. Does anyone know if this size will fit on a Honda Rancher 350 4 x 4? The rim size is 12 x 7.5. Does turning these bigger tires cause any damage to your bike (transmission, etc)? Guys, I have an older Leupold scope that says the adjustments are 2MOA. Does this mean that at 100 yards, 2 clicks equal 1 inch of adjustment? I can't remember. My newer scopes are 1/4' MOA, which is 4 clicks to 1 inch of adjustment at 100. Thanks in advance for any input.

One MOA (Minute Of Angle) is approximately one inch at 100....
Does anyone have any experience with the Barnes TSX Bullet? My rifle groups very well with them, but I'm looking to find out how they perform on deer. Do they tear up a lot of meat? Do they provide good exit holes and expand well? I will be shooting them out of a 270 WSM. Thanks in advance for any feedback.

Guys, I bought a box of the Barnes TSX bullets, and....
Looking for some feedback on the 270 WSM caliber. The ballistics on this round are pretty inpressive. I am in the market and have been thinking of getting of getting a 7mm MAG, but the barrel length of a long action magnum has me a little leary. The 270 WSM is 3" shorter in total length that the 7mm MAG, in the same rifle. Rifle will be used for deer hunting where most shots are 50-200.... Read More
