Another bucket of fish today down on the big muddy. The river just received a new shipment of logs today. Real logs this time. There has been debris the last couple of weeks but the last couple of days it has been getting better. Today coming in was the worst I have ever seen it. Took a little longer today with the low tide being first thing in the morning. Still hammered out the Reds and managed a few logs first thing. The pond I was catching them in is now choked with lillies. When the wind comes back around to the South the logs should pop back up as they do. Another great day in Venice! 504.329.0586

Terry, that ran the launch at Pier 90, passed away of a massive heart attack yesterday (at the launch). Those of you that knew him know he was a first class guy that would help anyone with anything! He was a good friend of many that launched there as well as myself. He will be dearly missed by many. God bless him!

This one is the one that I have been after all season. Even gave him the name "Rocket Top" because of his long and upward angled main beams. My trail cameras have taken about 40 something pics of him so far and had enabled me to figure out just about exactly where he was coming from. The first rut was pretty slow in area 6. The second rut has been great. Bucks chasing just about every sit. Different ones and some of the same doing their thing. I've been holding off waiting on one in particular to show himself to no avail. Took this nice 9 on Saturday during the rain and 30 mph winds. When it's on the conditions don't matter a bit. 180lbs taken with the 300 UM.

Fished from about 11-1:30 today and picked up 30 slabs(gave six bigguns to the man that runs the launch). Targeted bigger fish today looking for those 3+lbs that are out there. Great quality fish but not exactly what I was looking for. Still in the Cataoutche area fishing some nests that traditionally hold bigger fish. Fun trip!

Hey Bryce how have the Speckled Perch been treating you lately??? Fished in the Cataoutche area this weekend and managed to scrape up 133 of them (3 people). Black/Chartruese Yum Beavertails about 12" under a cork. Fishing on the DesAllemands side has been real slow.
