Shot this 8pt on Thursday, 12/27, at 9:35am. He came in investigating some other young bucks chasing three does. I grunted him into an opening and shot him at 60 yards. He weighed 165 pounds and was run down from chasing. 16 inch spread and 21 inch main beams. We estimated at 3.5 years old.

My son shot this buck at 8:20am chasing two does at 30 yards on December 9, 2011. This is his second good buck taken from the stand and third in the same area. We have not seen much chasing yet, but the bucks are scraping heavily. Dimensions: 17.5in inside spread, 22in main beams, 9in back tines, 4.5in bases. Rough scored 131 b&c.

12/29/10 West of Clinton
Dropped this 9 point this morning at 9:00 slipping through a thicker area behind me at approximately 60 yards. Measurements: 20 inch main beams, 4.25 inch bases, 12.5 inch inside spread, 9 inch back tine, 175 lbs. Hocks were dark and stunk and swollen neck. Bucks have been chasing the last few mornings but barely any deer movement in the evenings.

The Sunday (11/28/10) of Thanksgiving weekend my son, Paul, killed a heavy 11pt and doe in the same morning in East Feliciana Parish west of Clinton. Got several shooters on camera near Clinton, La in East Feliciana. One heavy 10 point that we have gotten pictures of for the last two years. The other two are a big velvet 8 point and a chocolate horned 8 point.

Killed this 8 point at 10:30am on Friday, November 28. The deer weighed 175lbs, and was killed northwest of Clinton, La. Almost got down from my stand but decided to wait a couple more minutes and he walked out. Goes to show you to always stay on your stand as long as possible.

Once again the bucks have showed up to the rice bran. Had a couple of cool fighting pictures. Waiting to see if they show up in the day time. A total of 8 different rack deer, with four good ones. The pictures are of the biggest two and one of the fighting pictures.

I'm posting this in response to Paulru's earlier post. The second image is of a crow taking flight. The image is from the Cuddeback website. The two birds look extremely similar.

Checked the camera and had a lot of does, but no fawns yet. A couple of bucks including a nice 8pt. The millet really seems to attract the turkey.

I shot this 9pt within the last hour of the last afternoon of rifle season. Dropped this deer at 5:20pm walking out to a food plot. It was killed in East Feliciana northwest of Clinton on private property.
