I'm heading out the the lake tomorrow to give it a shot. I've seemed to fail on my previous attempts to catch a few specks. Anyone have any tips or advice?

Went to bayou pigeon yesterday (12/6/12) to run my boat and do a little fishing. Caught 23 of the typical 13 1/2' bass & 3 keepers. The water was as low as I've ever seen it. The bayou sorrel lock gauge was at 2.3'. Caught everything on white/char spinnerbait in the main bayous from the points of the dead end canals to about 100yds away from them.

Went spent a couple hours on the amite river today. Launched out of bay view and took that bayou(don't know the name of it) out to the amite. Fished structure, points, & lily pads from the rock wier back to the bayou I came in on with soft plastics, crank bait, & spinnerbaits. Did not get a single bite. Can anyone tell me if what's the fastest route to lake campo/dead duck pass from sweet water marina? I've been once and took the bayou that you launch in straight down south and hung a right in the pipeline into dead duck pass. I have a map and the GPS boat route chip for the area. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I'm thinking about launching in the tchefuncte river as close to the lake as I can & attempting my first go at the salt water fishing along the bridge pilings this weekend. anyone have any opinions or have any tips to do or try? I plan on using artificial baits and ill be fishing out of a 18' xpress flat bottom boat.

I was curious if there is a possibility of brackish water to catch reds & bass? I have fished the lake carencro & lake lery area but from what I have heard catching bass in those areas is out of the picture for awhile due to the salt water intrusion from the storm surge. I new to fishing & from denham springs so I'm far from knowing many areas. Im all about learning new areas just.... Read More
