What an AMAZING two weeks, we totalled 137 birds and probably missed at least that many!! lol 6 weeks to go, can't wait for big ducks! Thanks to the guys at Angler Management for affording us the amazing memories!!!!!
Whata day, took my uncle that hadn't hunted for 12 years as they had some family obstacles to overcome, it warmed my heart to be able to share with him the 'insanity' we call teal season, lights out this am in Delacroix boys!!!! Making memories that's what it's all about!!!!! Hope everybody did well... GL in da am!
Well the 7 months we had to wait was certainly worth it! The boys and I had a lot of concerns heading into the marsh for opening day after scouting on Friday and being less than overwhelmed! However, the guys at Angler Management that I picked up the lease from for the first time this year assured me they'd be around, and boy were they right!!!! We were done on Saturday by 6:55 with a 3 man....
Any of you guys that know the Delacroix area well and been around a while have any thoughts on how the marsh will do with this storm, i.e. what can we expect next Sat morn bird wise, marsh wise, etc..... Thnx in advance!!
Hey man, my father n law is a farmer up N of there around Evergreen area and we hunt his rice fields when it's right, when I go up there from NOLA I specifically travel 71 as its usually loaded with birds and fun to look at! However, its like the first thing you learn in biz school, location, location, location... maybe try to acquire last years log or talk to the neighbors of the property........
I dont know about Dewey but contact me when you get back and if you would like to come down to the Nola area you'd be more than welcome to jump in with me.... Thank you for your service, it provides us with the freedom we take for granted every day!!!
Question, have also been fortunate enough to acquire a lease around LAke John in the Delacroix area, any advice on how those guys do out there or best ways to hunt, ie type of blinds....thanks in advance for the help!!!
