Looking to make a midweek trip on Wednesday. Should I put in at Leeville and head towards Raccourci or put in at Fourchon and hit the beaches?

Any suggestions or reports would be appreciated.

Brought a few friends yesterday, launched at the Fourchon public launch and hit the beaches. The fish are definately stacked on the beaches. The bite is fast and furious at first light till around 8:30-9:00 then it shuts off like a switch until the tide turned around. Bite started back up around 1:30.

I will be sending the boat in for yearly maintenance soon and was thinking of getting a stereo and a few other things installed.


Any suggestions on brands or models. Experiences good or bad would be appreciated.

Sorry for late post. Made trip on 11/29/11 put in at Falgout marina. We hit Decade first but it was windy and only picked up a handful. Started hitting spots and slowly but steadily picked up trout through the day until reaching a 4 man limit of specks at 2:30. Puple/Chartreuse under a cork was the best bait of the day.

Took my father and a friend to Fourchon yesterday (8/25/11). We didn't exactly clean up but ended up with 20 very nice specks and 3 reds before lunch. All of the trout were mules and were picked up as singles not in schools. Took a few friends out on 8/11/11 who are not regular fisherman and have never caught a redfish before.

I have a lot more respect for professional guides who take on inexperienced fisherman and women everyday.

Heading down to Fourchon in the Morning to go after some specks. There will be 4 of us in the 22 ft Blue wave launching from the public launch.


I would appreciate any tips, suggestions, or recent reports. I am a learning boater and angler.

Well I will be making a trip to Fourchon this week bringing a few friends. I was planning on hitting the rock jetties at Belle Pass then the rocks along the beach at Fourchon but I am unsure where to head if these 2 spots don't produce.
