What a great weekend in Leeville fishing with my best friend Mike Sullivan. Friday - Fished the east side along power lines concentrating on the deep holes and points. The fish were on just about every where we tried giving our attention on catching only trout. The bigger trout were caught on live minnows fishing Carolina rigged. Early morning the trout seemed to be on top so we used a clip.... Read More

Ok... How many motors would you like on your house boat? This was taken in the Boudreaux Canal in Leeville. Its actually part of a work boat crew that is based there. It was really odd to see 8 250hp Yamaha's on the back of something like that. Is it economical? who knows. Just seems like it would be more practical to put a good diesel on it.
Thursday & Friday couldn\'t ask for the weather to be more perfect. Thursday morning we headed out to Lake Raccourci and made the first stop at Northwest Shoal. The topwater bite was on using TopDog Jr. Black/Gold color. We were able to pick up a few nice trout but when the sun peeped up the topwater action shut down. We then ran to Philo Brice fishing the points which started out very.... Read More
Friday afternoon started off slow and ended slow. Fished Lake Raccourci around the platforms from about 5:00pm to dark and only produced 3 Specks and 1 Red. Saturday morning however was more promising with calmer winds. Made it back out to the platforms and using live minnows we fished till about 10:00am untill the storms started popping up. We came in with 30 nice Specks. Saturday afternoon.... Read More
Had another fantastic trip out of Leeville with my wife as we made it to Boudreaux's late Tuesday evening. Wednesday morning we got bait at Terry's and headed out to Lake Raccourci. Our first stop we found the specks chasing shrimp and was able to catch some hammers on topwater until the sun popped up then they shut down. We then ran to one of the platforms where we found them on the down.... Read More
Recently I have seen it mentioned in several post about some experiencing the arrogance and rudeness of other boaters ( fishermen). I have always marked it down as some anglers just having lack of experience and not being able to get out and fish as much as most of us do that post on here. I have seen this happen out on the water numerous times. Unexpected things can happen like your anchor.... Read More
Brother in law and me checked into Boudreaux's around 2:30pm Wednesday. Grabbed lunch at Griffins and some minnows at Terry's. We then headed out to Lake Raccourci which had a light southwest breeze and light chop. The afternoon started off slow hitting around the platforms. By 6:30pm we had a dozen average Specks in the boat then the bite started. We fished till dark and came in with our limit..... Read More
Left City of Central thursday morning with no wind and perfect weather. Of course the way my luck goes when we arrived in Leeville the flags were flapping with about a 12mph west wind. After loading up with ice and minnows at Terry's we made the rough ride to Philo Brice Island. Once day light broke I noticed the water was getting dirty and after about an hour with no bite we decided to make.... Read More
Finally was able to make a quick trip to Leeville. I received several reports from Monday of limits being caught all the way from Lake Raccourci south to East Timbalier. So Tuesday I hooked to the boat and headed to Leeville. I brought alone a good friend of mine Mike and his son Andrew. We loaded up with minnows from Terry's and headed out to a calm Lake Raccourci. We fished Northwest Isl. for.... Read More
At the Sportsman Show this year there was a guy there at a booth that repaired vintage outboards. Does anyone have this guy's information? I have a friend that is working on a old 9 1/2hp Evinrude. He needs to locate parts for it. I think its around a 1963 model...The old flat top.
Friday had a little chill in the air as we left our room at Boudreaux's Motel and loaded up with minnows and ice at Terry's Bait Shop. There was a decent incoming tide movement so I made my first stop in the main bayou near the bridge. I believe the water was moving a little too fast because we didn't even get a bite there. We ran to the east side around the William's Canal at the helicoptor.... Read More
I had told Cajun Kent at Boudreaux's a week ago I would post this for him and forgot. Wanted to let everyone know that Boudreaux's in Leeville now has Wi-Fi service. Now we can give more updated reports on site.
Spent most the day Friday at the sportsman show. Last year I had a good time there but this year was even alot better. Don't know if it was just the weather or what but it seemed to be a great turn out so far. I had the pleasure of meeting some of the guides that post on here. There are alot of great deals there to take advantage of. I picked up the Standard Mapping E-Card for my GPS and can't.... Read More
Well not alot to report on from this trip. Saturday started out with winds from 10 to 15 mph. After the winds laid down here came the hungry Gnats. We fished the east side around Lake Jesse and found the water a little on the dirty side. Didn't even get a strike using live minnows or plastics. Decided to try the West side and on the way developed some problems with the steering on my boat. We.... Read More
