Just curious. I hunt in a club that's been around since 1948. I was just wondering how many other clubs have been around that long.

Got a call from my cousin Monday evening from the woods. He told me he had shot a small freak-horned buck at about 80 yards with his 30-06. He said the deer was on a shooting lane and broad-side. Well, they closed the season for us down in the swamp, so my 16 year old son resorted to plan "B". Went to his uncle's cattle ranch in Pike County Mississippi and killed this 175 lbs. 9 point. Aint sayin he's glad they shut us down, but very glad the way it turned out.

My latest blood dog project has paid off. Hoss, my 8 month old half bloodhound, half lab with his first find. A five point shot in the back leg. It was over a half mile trail and across a wide canal, but his nose did the job. One happy young hunter, one happy dog, and 3 happy dog owners, me and my two sons.

Well my (excuse me, our) Half lab half bloodhound made his second find. This time he saved my butt. I made a bad shot on a doe with my .45-70 and Hoss saved the day. The shot was low and a little back. Only found white hair and a little "gut stuff" where the deer was shot, not a drop of blood. Gave the deer 3 hours and put Hoss on it. Need some advice. I am considering replacing my 25 hp outboard with a Pro Drive or simular type motor. I use this boat to hunt deer, ducks, and alligators. The main problem is with grass, salvainia, and logs, not shallow water, although I do go into some sloughs and pipelines. The main concern I have is my boat.
