I haven't been down river to the ADWMA in 10 yrs or so. How's the hunting been this season. Thinking about going next weekend if it is worth it.

It was with great sadness that I had to take my 12 yr old lab Sandy to be euthanized today. She came to me exactly 12 yrs ago as a mere pup. With a lot of training, she became an obedient friend and hunting companion. She retrieved my son's first ducks, and the first mallard I ever shot. Dec 4 & 5....The duck rain continued!! 'Mallard Mafia' was at it again with a 4 man limit of 48. Mallard's End is living up to it's name so far this season! Clint, Chase, Wayne, & John all were on target these days....

Thanksgiving weekend was a blast in sw Ms! LITERALLY!! Ducks were dropping all day long after the Friday front. Not all the ducks we harvested are even pictured here. The 'Mallard Mafia' was in all the right spots this weekend..
I have an La Traveler that has set up for 2 yrs with a full tank of gas. What is the best way to dispose of it? In the past, I have mixed fresh gas with some old and gone with it. Thoughts on mixing in some Stabil water remover, pumping out half that gas and refilling with fresh ETHANOL FREE gas???

I just ordered a 24" 12ga turkey barrel for my Encore. Planning on getting a Primos Jellyhead choke to shoot out of. Just wanted to get some ideas about various ammo that others are using and what success or failures you have. I'm leaning towards the 2.75" Winchester Supreme with #5 shot at this time. The Encore barrel is only chambered for a 3" shell.

Went to first game last Friday night. COLD for baseball. Tigers won the opening series and Texas went 1-2. Tigers are now #1. The unveiling of the new "INTIMIDATOR" in right field was awesome.

I'd like to take my girlfriend on her first hog hunt so that she can lay the smackdown on a lil piggy. I'd normally be able to do this at our place in MS but it has been flooded since Oct and "Big Muddy" is rising faster and much higher again now. Won't be a pig in sight there for quite awhile. I witnessed a really nice 8pt today that was working over 3 does. He was moving them like a "cuttin horse"! This was in Ascension parish. This is awful late for this and the buck still had both horns. Anyone got any thoughts and comments about it?

Getting ready for next season and started training my son's puppy. "Pearl" is 8mos old now and getting with the program. She looks like she might be a good candidate for "Dock Dogs" with this leap. This makes for a lot of fun in the off season and a good way to pass the time until November.

Here is a picture of the last hunt that I had in SW MS on our property. This was on 1/17 which was a cloudy windy morning. Saw a number of ducks this day and got every mallard that came into the dekes. Wound up with 5 mallards, 1 sprig pintail, and one green-wing. Should have had another pintail and a couple more teal. What do you guys think he will score? And don't worry, he is in no danger of being shot at.He is walking around safe inside a Geismar area chem plant. He may get his butt kicked by one of the bigger ones out there. You can see that his right main beam has been broken off. And there has been a couple seen that make him look to be a yearling.

This 13" 7pt walked within 15 feet of my stand at 8:15 on Monday morning. I had to watch him walk straight away before he turned broadside at 57 yds before I could shoot.
