Anybody here ever catch a White Catfish? I'm not referring to a albino channel cat, or blue cat.
These fish are actually a smaller bluish gray type catfish. Supposedly they are present in the Mississippi River, and some of it's tributaries.
They appear similar to channel catfish, but have a rather BIG head in proportion to their body. They also share similar, but different....

I haven't been on the water much this summer/fall but looking to see if anyone is having any luck on the Pearl near Pearl River. I'm planning on going Friday morning and/or Saturday and will be targeting sacs, perch and white bass. Any information on how conditions are and if anyone has been doing any good there lately would be appreciated.
Howdy I just moved to Baton Rouge from out west and to catch a Mississippi river catfish is on my bucket list. So if someone has a idea where I might catch one from the bank that would be a great help! I know Elk, catfish not so much..
I live in Iowa and would like to build a air cooled direct drive mud boat. It seems the general name is a Louisiana mud boat. There isn't much info regarding the mod or building process like there is on jet jons. The jet jons are good but I want simplicity. If there is anyone out there who can help or point me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it.
CRAPPIE AND YELLOW BASS: Crappie fishing has improved as a fresh report from Sherry Perkins from Dequincy had a stringer of another 25 crappie which included several 1.5 pounders caught on live shiners in depths of about 25 feet but fishing the shiners about 15 feet down.
They were fishing baited brush piles in the Six Mile creek area of Toledo. Yellow bass were a little scarce this....
I sunk my boat last week off of Old River in the spillway and my tackle boat floated off. I know this is a shot in the dark but just would like to know if someone seen or has it. I'll give money for a reward. Thanks
I was told that apple snails were a problem because they had no natural predators. the frogs I have been catching are full of apple snails. I have included some pics. On hard ground apple snail shells can be seen by the hundreds. they are all empty with no marks to the shell. So I guess they regurgitate the shell?
Headed out to Lake Varett in the morning to try and catch some catfish, bream, or bass. Taking a friend from Texas and some help would be greatly appreciated. Just want to know if the fish have been biting.
I know that Saline/Larto has been drained to repair the weir, but can anyone tell me the progress? Me and some others plan a yearly trip up there in October/November and I would like to know if we should cancel this year's trip.
