This is yet another blatant display of the deep prevailing corruption that seems to be so much a part of the LDWF. The LDWF apparently are able to break the laws of the state of Louisiana, laws you and I must obey, laws that are enforced at the point of a gun with the threat of jail time. The arrogance of the LDWF’s elitist attitude demonstrates that they believe they are untouchable and are.... Read More
In an outrageous demonstration of disregard for the established needs and concerns of hunters of public lands in Louisiana the Secretary of Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, without any public knowledge or input, has conspicuously closed down 206 prime hunting acres that were accessible by road in the Pearl River WMA. While 206 acres might not seem like much land when the PRWMA.... Read More
I've recently started hunting the PR WMA a week ago going everyday. I'm looking for rabbits, squirrels and even a hog or two. Problem is I haven't seen anything other than a few birds. I go off trail and walk deep in the woods I'm there before dawn. Anyone know where the hunting in this area is best for small game? Anyone having any luck out there at all?
Does anybody have any experience bow hunting the Thistlethwaite management area? I am a student at LSU and was interested in doing a little bow hunting next season. Any advice, tips, or anything like that would be greatly appreciated!
I had a bad feeling when I woke up this morning. Made 27 today and I just felt like something was going to go wrong. Went to walmart in Houma to pick up an orange vest and someone stole my brand new icechest out of my boat. Then we launched the boat at 8am in Pearl River WMA(launch off of 90)came back at 1030 and someone smashed my friggin' driver side window. They stole my ipod, gps, cds and.... Read More
Good afternoon,\r\n\r\nI\'m new to the New Orleans area (living in Kenner) and recently got my Louisiana licenses to be able to hunt down here. As I\'m new I don\'t know anyone who has a hunting lease and my only legal options would be WMA\'s for the time being and Big Branch and Salvador are my close options. Being as is I have a few questions..... Read More

I'm new to the state and I'm looking to start hunting the WMAs. I'm unfamiliar with how to hunt these areas. I will be primarily hunting the Sherburne WMA since its closest to me. If anybody can give me some pointers on how to start hunting these areas that would be much appreciated.

Hog population has steadily been growing unchecked. It is now a full blown epidemic. The way the current regulations and seasons stand hunting will not begin to alleviate this problem. I have been hunting this area over 30 years and have never had this kind of interference hunting deer. Whether it is from the food competition or just for some reasons a bioligist would know, the problem needs.... Read More
It know called Richard Yancey now but the area I am looking into in the old RR WMA. I have been wanting to scout it but really dont know where to start. I know there is a greentree reservoir but it is small and from what I have heard has a lot of pressure and is hit or miss at best. Any advice on where to start. Do most hunt right off the river?
