Hog population has steadily been growing unchecked. It is now a full blown epidemic. The way the current regulations and seasons stand hunting will not begin to alleviate this problem. I have been hunting this area over 30 years and have never had this kind of interference hunting deer. Whether it is from the food competition or just for some reasons a bioligist would know, the problem needs.... Read More

I ever tell you about the time I hit quicksand in the Pearl River WMA? It was last year, 2012, and I will remember it forever. I can think back to when my daddy and me first started hunting the Pearl. That was almost thirty years ago. I remember him saying that the Pearl River was one of the last places in North America to still have quicksand. It was just an off handed comment and he only.... Read More

I just moved to St Martin parish and am looking to start hunting Indian Bayou and Sherburne. Not looking for anyone to give me advise on where to hunt, but I would like to get people's opinions on the deer and duck hunting at both places. Are there a lot of deer? Are there big deer? Is there a lot of pressure?
I hope whoever forget their rifle at the sherburne range yesterday has already got it back. Just in case I contacted an agent and he secured it in the office building Sunday afternoon (around 4:00 pm). I hope it returns to its owner
