Headed out in the morning with Kayak. Have not been in a while. Thinking either off of North side of hwy 1 between Fouchon and Grand Isle or Hopedale Hwy.. Anybody been fishing and doing good at any of those?
5 days in Buras with me and some buds. All we do is kayak fish. I know there are 2 or 3 put ins in Buras , but we would appreciate any suggestions on where to go. Reds in Florida are scattered.. so this will be new to us from the crazy fishing I have seen in videos. I have read that the reds meet up in the passes in the river once it drops.. we're willing to go wherever. Any help would be great.
I have a 2011 wilderness ride 135 I would like to trade for a Jackson cuda 12. I love my ride 135 but it's weight and length can be inconvenient at times.13.6' 80 lbs. great kayak just want something 12' and lighter. My ride is not for sale, trades only.

Got a late start but first cast fish on! That's how it was for about 30 mins with h&h plastic. Every other cast fish on- but all small trouts and reds. And then nothing but harheads on dead shrimp. I can't.... Read More
I'm headed to grand isle in a week and bringing the yak down for the first time. I've been fishing there for several years but not in a yak. I'd like to go out with someone who is familiar with area and wouldn't mind sharing a few pointers. Let me know if interested.
I met a buddy this past week and we went to a few spots down in Grand Isle and it was worth it! In the past I would have to worry about heavy boat traffic when heading out, but by being in a kayak that is stable and tough I did not have a problem. I even went out to Pensacola this summer into the surf and I paddled out through four and five foot waves and was fine. Also my past few kayaks I had.... Read More
