Please help me im new to kayak fishing and all the help will be appreciated
I am working on setting up a trip with Capt. Brian at kayakvenicela.com and most likely will have at least 2 spots open.
Your cost would be your share of the $150 charter fee. So if 4 people go $37.50, if only 2 people $75. If you do not have a kayak, he has them available to rent at an additional cost (your responsibility).
The trip will either be on April 6th or 8th (leaning....
Went this past weekend early to pick up some reds on top water and site fishing and later in the evening went to a honey hole and grab some sacs. There is Not to many states where you can grab reds, blue and channel cat and some reds all in the same day.
Yak gear was selling these LED lights for 99$ plus tax, I found on Amazon 2 of the lights for 27$ and built own attachment with the....
Anyone have an opinion on the best spot to go for a 4 day trip at the end of March. We have fished from Buras in the past, done well, but never this time of year. Just wondering if we are missing out on a great spot to put the yaks in on Delacroix island.
Anyone fished from yaks in both places and like one better?
I am posting this for my son who fished Lake Martin this morning. He was experimenting with his underwater camera when a crappie attacked his camera multiple times. He soon caught the fish, then released it. It was the only fish on the morning. Here is the link if you are interested in seeing this interesting video:
I am trying to plan a trip somewhere within a couple hours from Gonzales, to drive to and then launch out on kayaks with a couple buddy's with all our camping and fishing gear. Looking for somewhere where we can catch some reds or trout near an area where we can pitch a tent. Thanks for any info, feel free to pm me

Gentle breeze, 70 degrees, and sunshine.. not exactly the rain that was called for in the weather forecasts.
I got a little bit of a late start and didn't put the yak in the water until around 9. I had 5 fat reds on the stringer, and was in catch and release mode within about an hour. The fish didn't even mind that I had the Gopro running lol, so I got em on video.
I launched at Sweetwater this morning around 9. I trolling motor/paddled down to Little Lake and Alligator Pass. There were tons of boats anchored out in the middle of Little Lake.
I joined them and caught 1 trout. Not to many people seemed to be catching. I think I only saw 5-6 trout boated out of the 20+ boats during the 30 minutes I anchored there. The wind and waves were a bit much....
