As this year’s annual Turkey Quest is drawing to a close, I can’t help but reflect upon one of the best hunts that I have ever been lucky enough to experience. Shot this gobbler after coming right off the roost to two of my hen decoys I had set up.
The three beards measured out to be 10in., 2.5in. and 2in., with 1in. spurs.

I was able to get video footage of an awesome turkey hunt! The field was full of birds to include 9 Toms. I had 3 Toms hang-up just out of range and after about a 10 min. stand-off they finally commit and come in nicely!

It is a glass slate with a star from a US flag inside the glass. The flag was flown on a MEDEVAC mission on November 3rd 2012 in Afghanistan. I had the opportunity this week to make a turkey/hog hunt in south Texas with my close friend and what a blast it was. We hunted a ranch near Crystal City and the gobblers were in full rut. On the first morning hunt I worked a big gobbler for over an hour and videoed him strutting with 4 hens. This is Brice Crochet (age 14) with his first Turkey. He and his dad (Scotty Crochet) were hunting public land in Mississippi when this Gobbler came in struttin, drummin and gobbling. He was giving them the whole show when Brice took him at 15 yards. Needless to say he is hooked. Congratulations -- take a kid hunting.
Headed up to west Tennessee Monday. My buddy has a great peice of land near Jackson TN. Got bou-cou deer and turkeys. I might try shooting one of them birds. Can I shoot one with a bow? Do I use my broadheads? There are so many turkeys there it's crazy. Seems like it would be too easy to shoot one with a gun. First year turkey hunting in Louisiana. Is anyone hearing, seeing, killing any turkeys in Bodcau? Started scouting there in late January. Went squirrel hunting also. Hunted opening day at daybreak, the following Tuesday at daybreak and yesterday at dusk. I have not heard one peep or seen anything? Anyone having any luck there?

A friend of mine Johnny asked me if I wanted to go turkey hunting on his deer lease in Brookhaven ,Ms. He has never killed a turkey before and only made 2 hunts,so I said yes and I'll come call for you.

Shot a nice bird on the Sherburnne WMA lottery hunt. Killed him about 5 minutes after he left the roost. He had a 10' beard and 1' spurs weighed in at 16 lbs gutted.

GentleMen Jack on Sunday at about 3:00pm jake walked out and I poped him since it was late on the last day. He had a 4 1/2 inch beard with 1/2 inch spurs. I'm tellin you guys ya'll really need to give GENTLEMEN JACK a call at (256).252.8938. I went to the Louisiana Sportsman Show last Thursday and bought a $8 GentleMen Jack mouth call made by Johnny Mitchell. While hunting with it on Saturday morning I must have had 20 gobbles from 3 different toms going, and I had 3 hens and 1 gobber early in the morning but far far walk up on us while using that call! I was chosen for the Sicily Island Hills WMA lottery hunt for opening weekend. This will be my first time being chosen for the lottery. Can anyone offer up some advice or at least give me an idea of what to expect when I get there to hunt opening morning. Can I go as early as I want or do they assign people specific areas?
