I have had the good fortune to fish with Randy Starita and his fishing friend Bill for 5 years. A windy Friday fishing across lake Borgne with Mr. Daril and family from Atlanta. They wanted reds so we hit ponds and points the water was muddy every where we went. Dead shrimp under a cork was the ticket pulled out 13 nice reds, 5 black drum and 15 trout full box

caught this in bayou sauvage. didnt know what this was but it was on 4 of my fish. black slotches randomly all over these bass. any help?

I was watching a show with KVD one day and he caught one....
Am having my family from Houston and Atlanta meet me near Chef Menteur Pass for a few days. Have never fished this area, and was wondering where I should go in a 17 ft. BassTracker semi-V? Interested mainly in specks/reds....any help would be appreciated!

I had 2 boats out Saturday taking advantage of the warm weather. Capt. Kris fished with Steve Beard and his son. The guys are in the area looking for a house. They are from Ohio. Capt. Kris put them on a nice limit of Redfish fishing shrimp under corks in the local marsh.

Made a solo trip Friday and someone forgot to tell the flying teeth that it is January. The further you got back in the marsh the more hungry they were.

I woke up this morning(12-6-12), drank 2 cups of coffee, watched the sun come up. Decided to go fishing. Got a late start but ended up with 25 trout by 11:30. They ranged from 13'-15'. I was fishing off the ICWW near Chef Pass.

Had two great days fishing in Lake Borgne. Day one I had a great day fishing with Mr. Todd and friends we fished with live shrimp and DOA's we caught 60 trout and 10 reds. Day two had a great day fishing with Mr. Glenn and family and we caught 59 trout 8 reds and 4 sheep-heads
Hello. I'm getting back into fishing after a 20+ yr break. I was wondering if the pass from Lake St. Catherine to the Intracoastal Waterway is navigational under what seem's to be a train tressle? I'm trying to cut down travel time from the Rigolet boat launch out to Chef Pass.

If I'm not misstaken that is known as Unknown Pass and I....
Do the ducks flock to the WMA to rest or eat? Or both? What's the natural food source? Is there any food left after the storm?

A friend that was fishing on Saturday came across several large flocks of ducks. They were holding in the larger lagoons with visible grass. This was tn the Bayou Sauvage refuge area off of the Intracoastal.

Finally had a good day in the Pontchartrain area. Caught 50 trout 10 specs and 40 whites. no giants but a lot of fun. missed a few good ones and threw back more than we kept. fishe one spot anchored with a bunch of others. like I said lots of fun. would have posted pictures,but couldn't down load off my phone.
Does anyone know for sure what the pond baiting rules are? I've heard a million different things. I hear you can bait your pond but it has to be gone for the season, I've heard that you can bait year round just have to hunt a certain distance away. I don't want to lose my boat but would like to keep some ducks in my area since Isaac killed all the feed
