Fished Chicot all day Friday. I caught 27 bass between 3 p.m. & 5 p.m. I threw my tackle box: to include TX rig plastics, blades, buzz baits, poppers, crank baits, drop shot, jigs,flukes, & a secretive jerkbait by lucky craft. All of my fish fell for the jerkbait its a Lucky craft slender pointer 112 IMR in ghost minnow. My big fish went probably 4 lbs the rest slot fish 2-3lbers. No.... Read More

Took my son to try to catch us a mess of fish at chicot . We brought home 6. Lost a couple big boys , biggest was 14inches,they have some nice slabs in the lake. My son had a blast.
Wanting to take my little boy friday or saturday to chicot to try for some sac a lait. Looking for any reports or any suggestions on what they are hitting on. Not asking for anyones honeyhole just want to try to catch a few to make the little dude happy. Any info will be greatly appreciated. Thanks and god bless.

Me and a buddy hit chicot this afternoon. We actually started fishing around lunch. I wanted to try a completely new area, one that I had been scoping, that looked really good for Sac-a-lait..........Wrong! We fished about 5 hours through a series of banks. Fished minnows, worms and jigs at varied depths and had a few bass and one sac-a-lait to show for it. That's Chicot though.

I am wanting to take my little boy fishing this weekend at chicot and try to catch a few sac u lait. Has anyone been there lately or heard how the fishing is? its a pretty far drive from iberia parish and really hate to drive that far if the fishing isnt good,but the little dude wants to go so any day with the kids is well worth it. thanks for any info anyone can give.

Im hunting right off the atchafalaya on the crook chene which is the west side of the river. Has anyone been seeing hogs around there? Before that big flood they were everywhere and now i havent seen one yet this year. Did that flood wipe em out?

It was a beautiful cold south Louisiana morning north winds clear skies .After hunting the last few days low water and no ducks We wasn't expecting much .And it let up to it very few ducks period! These cold fronts have brought No ducks at all I hope it warms up and the south winds blow hard so i can kill some ducks Before i Head back norht again So here's todays kill

The sad thing of Evangeline Parish is we don't have any....
Just got a pup I'm going to try to train for squirrel. He's out of some good dogs so hopefully he will hunt when he's old enough. Right now I'm looking for some do's and not's for when I start working him and info will be helpfull.

Anyone have advice or experience with using deer decoys on food plots? Just the 2-D kind, not the fancy 3-D ones like you see on the TV huntin' shows. I'm on leased land.

Im bringing my boat and we are looking to do some fishing but i think the water in Miller's Lake is too low for fishing and covered with Lillies right now. Me, my dad, and my Uncle went to Chicot this morning expecting less than what we got. We caught 4 altogether but this fish really topped of the morning that we had. this was the last fish that we caught. We had decided to make one more round at this spot and were glad that we had.
