I read The Tri Parish Times, The Gazette, and The Comet on line. All in my opinion are great newspapers. In the jeer section of Saturdays on line edition of the comet. I felt legitimate questions were raised along, with several inaccuracies.

I think I'm gonna head to GI/Fourchon this weekend. I haven't been down there in forever though. I was wondering if someone could just point me in the right direction to maybe get on a few fish. I'm not looking for a handout, just some general advice. If anyone wants to meet up, let me know. Thanks in advance.

I like to fish the pass between elmers and grand isle.....
First time headed out to Grand Isle area Wednesday to go fishing. Planning on hitting up Elmers Island and possibly Grand Isle National Park. If anyone has any recommendations on what type of rigs work best or maybe point me in a good direction it would greatly be appreciative.

what kind of bait were yal using?
Down in the isle. Wind is whipping pretty good. With some real choppy surf. Looking for a good spot to fish the subset this evening. Any help or advice is appreciated. No boat. Thanks in advance.

With these SE and S winds you should have a good high....
Taken a ride to Grand Isle the weekend of 6/7-10. I have been hearing the usual reports about trout on the beach. I was curious what the situation is with crabs in the surf. We have gotten skunked the last few years in June. Not looking for secrets just curious if anyone has caught any or not. A lot of extra gear to lug if there aren't any down there. I took my girlfriends cousins down to Grand Isle last week for a couple days and we were really blessed with some decent enough whether and a whole lot of sun! Get you some live shrimp & minnows and fish them....
Headed down on june23 for a charter ,with some guys who never have luck when we are down surf fishing with cut bait for shark reds or drum just anything large lol I have caught a couple dozen sharks in the surf but always when they go with me wind or surf too rough to fish .wondering if anyone had some tips or places to try for sharks thanks for any input

My gf's son, Cody, came down from Missouri Saturday to spend the summer with his mother. Sunday, we packed up the boat and headed to Leeville. Go to the island around 2 this morning to fish some lights and the tide was dead so so was the bite. Also on my third cast of the morning I went to move down and slipped on some rocks and my hand ended up getting shredded by some oyster shells and barnacles so I wrapped it up in a rag and finally got the bleeding to stop. Onboard today we had Jimmie, Eddie and James(JT)and we headed to Grand Isle. One stop is all it took to find the trout as they were hungry and biting like crazy.

Finished this morning and ended with 1 speck. That's right one. First stop timbalier islands. Ocean and back side of the east and west points. Nothing. Headed to 5 spots in Leeville around picket bay. 1 speck. We fished cocahoes Carolina rigged, & under a popping cork. Head over on the east side an fish from basa basa south n....
Have surf fished in North Carolina for last ten years, ready to try Louisiana. Do I use my heavy surf reels and cut bait on a drop rig or do I leave them home, just bring my casting reels and artificial bait. Any advise or recommendations are appreciated. Cant find much on Grand Isle rigs; and Google is my friend. Thanks

Hey ....I have did surf fishin in GI since i was old....
Anybody have any surf reports for Grand Isle/Elmers Island? Gonna be camping at the State Park on Memorial Day weekend. Also, does anyone know if Elmers Island has re-opened?

Not all of Elmer's Island is open but a good portion of it....
Heading down to the island this morning. (5/15/13) going try to do some bank fishing off LA1 any pointers or areas to try? Been out there fishing on pier/bridge never tried this bank fishing. Any word of advice will help.
