Well the last two days I got to do one of my favorite things in the world. Fish with my Pop, and my little brother. They were down from Shreveport staying with me for a couple days and we made a couple trips. Day one started out windy so we motored down to the rocks to see what we could get rolling. Water was dirty and bite was slow at first but managed to start putting a box together under.... Read More
A few days ago I was motoring across Breton Sound and came across a horrible sight... Thousands of big mature redfish flying dead on the surface. They went on for miles and miles. I know anyone out there recently can confirm this. I took pictures and video. The fish were stacked up in a rip line with 'pogie foam'. That nasty brown foam that is a byproduct of pogie ships harvesting. The.... Read More
Today I had the pleasure of fishing with Pastor Blake Boudreaux from Church of Kings and his fellow pastors. They were recommended by Jack Branch, thank you Jack.
The guys drove in this morning early, so we could get an early start then, we headed to Campo's to get some of their famous live shrimp, guaranteed to catch fish or die trying. You can't go wrong.... Read More

Hello everyone. I have been an avid reader of this site for years. Most of that time has been with pure envy as I read fishing reports from so many of you.
I've done surf fishing and bank fishing all my life, but never had access to a boat. Well that changed over the winter with a 19ft bay boat with a 150HP motor!
My buddy and I spent the winter fishing Hopedale launching out of BSM. We.... Read More
My buddy Jay and I headed out of Breton Sound Marina around 5 AM Wednesday morning looking forward to a trout slam on the rocks. We were headed out via the Spoil Canal when the motor died. We could not get it going. Thank God for our SEA Tow membership! Hot Rod of Sea tow was on his way from Slidell and we bided our time fishing on the bottom for monster gaff tops. Around 9 AM Capitan Guidry.... Read More
I was fishing with clients on Saturday when the inevitable happened. I was barely idling in the MRGO making an adjustment for my clients, when Bam! I hit a pipe and stalled out my motor. I didn’t hit it hard and thought I’d be okay, but when I put the boat back in gear, it was obvious I tore up my lower unit. I called Captain Frank and Captain Markham to pick up my guys and continue fishing..... Read More
Launched out of Hopedale Sunday with my sister Kelly. Late night graduation activities, no sunrise start. The SE winds were 10-15 mph, a tad bit high, so we skipped the original destinations (Two Trees, Machias, etc), and went Plan B, the lagoons off Loutre.
It worked out reasonably well. We got a mixed box of reds, 1 large sheephead, and a few trout. Also had some throwback reds, trout,.... Read More
Michael and his guests had a great time putting 66 trout in the box using Campo's live shrimp 3 ft. under a cork, especially the 2 12 yr. olds, nice group. Another great day in the Blazer Bay. Berkley rods and Penn reels did them in.
Day 2 for Harry and his two guests and it was almost a rerun of yesterday as the guys ended up with 70 trout using Berkley rods and Penn reels with Campo's live shrimp under a cork. Great day in the Blazer Bay till the next one.
Had Harry and his 2 guests from Ga. out to put a hurt on some trout and they weren't disappointed as they caught 80. Berkley Rods, Penn Reels and Campo's live shrimp under a cork was the bait of choice. Another great day in the Blazer Bay
Today I had the pleasure of fishing with my good friends: Greg, David, Perry, and Rene. They came in and spent the night at the lodge so that we could get an early start at the Marina. However, we didn't beat the crowd, it looked like everyone else had the same idea. We fished the edge of Breton Sound where got onto a couple of good trout bites. We ended the day.... Read More
