We fished Friday on the south side of little lake mainly to get out of the stiff south winds. Worked the rock jetties first then moved into area ponds. Picked up 15 nice keepers and released 40+ smaller reds. I like seeing all those smaller Reds which shows there was a good hatch/recruitment last year. All Reds were caught on Gold bladed spinner baits, Gold Spoons, and some were caught on bait.... Read More

Oyster leaseholders lose suit blaming oil spill berms for damage. Looks like everyone that is a fisherman or a guide or even a reporter wants to run the state. I think someone once said a house divided will not stand. I still say and I dare anyone to disprove this saltwater is the problem. Hit a few cats last month on the jugs. Fished the Bayou Des Allemands area. Truely the catfish capitol of the world; no dought! Spring is great, Isnt it?

Been fishing many years but have never seen so many fronts like this one. Last year at this time the river was gin clear and low. Looks like we may have a flood stage soon. Thursday made a quick trip south as the trout and bass have left the Pen there is no bait. We found some clear water and put the trolling motor on run and gun and killed the big trout. I fished with the Phil Robichaux fishing charters crew today. We fished with them just over a month ago and we had a great day putting 100 trout in the box. Great place for kids is Lafitte La. Today they open a new building which is full of local info it is right behind the HS. There is also a great raised walk way through the marsh with all kinds of wild life and fishing piers. Kids will love the Lafitte Welcome center with all kinds of kid stuff and some great information. Best yet all free check it out.

Some south winds blew some good clean water in. It help out the bit these week. As long as these front stop the fish will continual to bite.
