I am heading out to Myrtle Grove over the Fathers Day weekend to do some fishing with my sons and my dad. I was wondering....How has the fishing been there lately?????
Went out Saturday by myself,had a limit of Trout all 14- 18 inches on live shrimp.Port Sulphur area.No tide movment to speek of about 0.05 of a foot,wind was nothing.If you need live bait see Shrimper John on High Ridge road about 3 miles past Happy Jack,he always has bait for you. I read several articles about agents writing tickets for no inspection stickers on trailers. If you have an up to date Mississippi. plate and lights and chains on your trailer, that is all that's needed, provided everything working. This is from department of highway and safety.

Made a spur of the minute run to 4 Bayou from Myrtle Grove. Pushed away at about 10:00 with some cocahoes. After the third set got on a few nice trout before the tide played out. All of the trout were caught on cocahoes carolina rigged. Can't wait for the hot spring bite. ARRIVE ALIVE!!!

Well its time to replace trailer tires. Just seeing what everyone is running on there trailers and where to get it in New Orleans. Want something thats gonna last more than 1 year, because it seems Im replacing tires every year. This is for a single axle trailer.

I am 22 and in college. I'm relatively new to saltwater fishing on my own boat. I have been fishing the Myrtle Grove area since I bought my first boat (16 ft alweld flat) in June of last year. I have done fairly well with Reds, which is what I typically target, but never limited out on trout. The past few times I have been I have pulled a big goose egg for the day. Plenty of reds swimming around the duck ponds out in Port Sulphur, they loved the Shrimp Creole Matrix Shad. Big thanks to my good friend Captain Vinny for putting us on some nice ones.

I am looking start making some money training duck dogs. I really enjoyed training mine, and do not make a hunt without her now. She just turned 3 this past duck season and retrieved over 250 birds this season. And 100 this teal season, and maybe missed 2 blind retrieves total this season. Hey fellas Im on here a lot, but never see any reports from Myrtle Grove. Any of y'all fishing down there and if so how has it been lately. I fished there a lot during the end of September and did well with reds limiting out daily in Lake Laurier or Wilkinson Bay and I'm looking to head back this weekend.

They had birds working all over lake laurier with keeper....
Headed down to Myrtle Grove Marina or Grand Bayou Rd this weekend. Trying to for Reds and hoping for some Specks. Anyone got any ideas on what type of bait to use for the specks this weekend?

I personally have had some luck with purple and chartreuse....
Hurricane Isaac flooded part of my lower unit. I still have not been able to take it out and flush it. I will not be able to do so until Thursday. I was wondering if it would be fine or if I should get it checked out by a mechanic. Thank you in advance for any suggestions that are written to me.

I just received a call from my neighbor in Port Sulphur and was told my place had made it and that it had not flooded. My place is a couple blocks off of hwy 23 pass the hardware store. Hope this information helps if anyone has a place in this area.
