Just my observation.Chartering here on the Bend since 75.It was common practice to put the knife to bass 12' and over a 45 three man limit.Did this for years,the fish were plentiful and everywhere.Things changed as time and tournament fishing became very popular and catch and release was born.I can tell you honestly that since that time fram , I get customers, 99% of them , that wont keep.... I caught this 14 pound bass in Chicot Lake in March 1997. Once we drove to Ville Platte and back to Chicot for the official weighing and recording for the bass, it was recorded as 13.63 pounds and was indeed the lake record. We fished Fayette Res. in Texas on Saturday morning and ended catching a few fish. We finished with around 10 fish but all were over 3lbs. with largest going around 6.
I have an La Traveler that has set up for 2 yrs with a full tank of gas. What is the best way to dispose of it? In the past, I have mixed fresh gas with some old and gone with it. Thoughts on mixing in some Stabil water remover, pumping out half that gas and refilling with fresh ETHANOL FREE gas???

I took my brother to Henderson Saturday and we located the bass early. They hit anything we threw. white or chatreuse spinner, worm, fluke, ribbit, rattle trap or crank baits. They were everywhere. LAKE CONDITIONS: At mid-week the lake level is as low as it has been in over a year and stands at 167.3 feet which is almost 5 feet below full pool of 172'. This time of the year, the water is boiling hot. Because....
im going to false river in a couple of weeks and i was wandering how to catch the bass out there. last time we went we only caught 2 fish. is there any tips or places to fish to catch more? anything would be appreciated. we will be fishing off of the bank and in a little flat boat.

I have been fishing several times in the past few weeks. I have been to lake verett with no sucess wht so ever also have been to lake okissa in miss with little sucess and have been to false river with great sucess! this is my first post of many!

I wanted to take my son Matthew out for a fishing trip Saturday in the big boat but the wind was blowing just too hard so I decided just to hang around the house and farm. LAKE CONDITIONS: For the most part, Toledo's level has been near or just below 168' and presently reads 167.67' according to Sabine River Authority info. One generator has been running 2-3 hours weekdays to meet down stream demands. All the lake has good water conditions with surface tem ps running from 86 degrees at sunup to 91 to 93 degrees in afternoons. Boaters are encouraged to use.... Read More

I had a nice trip to False River in July. I fished at night but even with the sun out of the picture it was still hot and humid. To add to the heat it was very cloudy which did not help my accuracy at all but did manage to keep my baits off of the piers. LAKE CONDITIONS: The lake level is 167.8 and minimal generating is scheduled with one unit running most weekdays from 3-5 p.m. to maintain downstream flow. The surface temps remain high and are running from 86 at sunrise to as high as 93 mid-afternoon. Water conditions are excellent throughout the fishery but boaters are reminded to use caution due to low water levels.

My 9 year old son has been fishing at his Great Grandpa's pond all summer and has not caught anything over 1.5 lbs until Monday evening about dark when this one bit his baby brush hog. You talk about one happy little boy....he was there alone with his 6 year old 1st cousin..Happy Dad too......Now I have to get it mounted.

Took a short afternoon trip out on the Intracoastal in Houma for a little bass fishing today. My son Cade and Capt. Ryan Young joined me for a very fun trip. The bass were loaded around every cut with moving water. June bug and redshad worms was just what they wanted. We fished for 2 hours and had 50 fish, not any giants but a great time for Cade, and we had a ball too.

Hey guys! I'm looking to buy a good adjustable pedestal to put a butt seat on to bass fish with. I have read a bunch of reviews and most of the ones I have found don't seem last long. I don't want to spend $90 and have the thing go out after a few trips. I know some of you guys have found one that works and lasts. Please shed some light on this situation. Thanks!!!

I recently purchased a boat from Bass Pro Shop in Denhim Springs, the second time I took it out I noticed alot of water in my oil. I brought it back and the service department which was unwilling to work with me on time and a price, Even though I had the boat only 2 weeks! Sacs to be had in 12' to 20' of water on Old River.

Another good day of fishing. This trip took me to the Spillway. There was an abundance of small bass to keep the day moving forward, but only a hand full of keeper fish. These are two of the 3 keepers. 2.9 and 2.3 lb. Ok I guess.

Water conditions are excellent but the lake is 4 feet below full pool which boaters should keep in mind especially on the north half of the lake as well as when running boat lanes which come off main lake and entering main feeder creeks. Fished the Spillway yesterday afternoon and had something happen to me that has never happened before and probably won't happen again. My dad and I were throwing PopR's and catching quite a few small fish right before dark. Fish were really feeding. We caught 7 or 8 off of one tree. These two fish both hit at the same time. Has anyone been catching any bass at Millers Lake ? Is it still being used for irriagation purposes ? Is it still covered in lilly pads ? Is there a buzz bait or frog bite early in the morning ? I have caught quite a few big bass on this pond (I mean lake) ... Any advice or info would be greatly appreciated.

LAKE CONDITIONS: The lake level mid-week stands at 168.40' with both generators running weekdays from 2 to 8 p.m. as the lake level has been basically stationary with just a slight drop the past few weeks. Water conditions are nearly perfect if you like clear water as the lake has more clear water presently that it has had since last fall. Boaters should use caution as the lake is down.... Read More
