Does anybody know anything about the rio-grande round up at the city park rodeo. I was thinking about putting a team together, but didn't know if it was worth the effort.
Someone told me about a bass tournament on April 2nd, anyone have any info about it, I know there is a benefit tournament on the 3rd. Both at the East Pearl River Bridge.
Greg Hackney thought he was going to win the season's first Bassmaster Elite Series stop in California, but failed to seal the deal when he came up one fish short today.
I see were Dennis Tietje is in 5th place after day 1. He weighted in 5 fish for 15.4 pounds. Great start for his first day fishing with the big dogs. Dennis is a local guy from here in Southwest La.
The Louisiana boys are representing well at the Bassmaster Elite Series's California Delta stop after the first day.
Dennis Tietje is currently in fifth place with 15-4, Greg Hackney is in 12th with 14-14, Jeff Connella in in 24th with 13-5 and Cliff Crochet is in 43rd with 7-6.
Those are all great starts, considering they're competing against the very best 90 or so anglers in the.... Read More
With all this talk about the park taking over the water way at bayou segnette, what is going to happen to the bassmaster classic if they cant launch at segnette? The whole reason they come here is becuase they have a big nice launch and it not that far from the dome. they sure as hell wont be launching at pier 90.
Competition is well underway, and our own Cliff Crochet is already catching fish. He went into the day in 12th, but he's moved to 8th with four bass going 5-2. That brings his total to 25-2.
Fishing seems to be slower today. Crochet has the most boated fish caught at four, with Kevin VanDam and Bobby Lane being closest with three boated fish.
KVD has reclaimed the lead by bumping his total.... Read More

The Bassmaster Classic weigh-in is about the half-way point, and (in the words of Pierre Part's Cliff Crochet) "some guy named Kevin VanDam is winning."

On the Louisiana front, Crochet had a pretty good day - catching a limit - while Gonzales' Greg Hackney managed only a single 3-pound,.... Read More
The story about Cliff Crochet's first Bassmaster Classic day is now on the front page, so be sure and check out how this Louisiana boy put together a limit under very tough conditions.
Bassmaster Classic competitor Cliff Crochet of Pierre Part just called on his way from Lay Lake, and said he's set to weigh in 9 1/2 to 10 pounds. That's strong on a lake that was registering water temps in the upper 30s.
He'll be calling back after he weighs in, so be sure and check the front page for an update on how his day went.
Wonder how the Bassmaster Classic pros, including Gonzales' Greg Hackney, plan to catch fish? Check out what Hackney and five of his fellow Elite Series anglers had to say today.
Greg Hackney said the fishing leading up to Friday's Bassmaster Classic didn't get any better. Check out what he said about the today's final day of practice on the front-page story.
