I do not intend on 'cyber-scouting' but I do wish to receive some guidance. My friends and I are planning to do a 'do-it-yourself' duck hunt to LA sometime this fall, most likely following the Christmas Holiday. We want to do a real 'do it yourself' hunt, using our own boats, decoys, dogs etc.. We want to campout, wake up and hunt then spend the afternoon just hanging out, fishing, smoking.... Read More

I know it a few months til most will begin to think about duck season, but I am already getting the itch. I just wanted to get a thread going about which place do people think is better, Pass A Loute in Venice or Atchafalya Delta in Morgan city???? Every year my son and I take a week long trip to one or the other chasing ducks. They each have their pros and cons, just wanting to get others.... Read More

I have a 2 year old pure blood black lab that i would like to train myself.
I would like to get some of yalls info on what books or dvds to use.
I have trained him some already and have brought him hunting a few times and he likes to go get everything including decoys does anyone have a method to get him out of this habit?

Hey everyone. I will be getting a new pup in June and I'm looking for birds for training. I'm looking for wings as well as dead/alive pigeons. I could use a variety of game bird wings but dove, quail, and pheasant would be nice. (Especially when I pick the pup in a few weeks.)

The taxidermist is in Fl? I use a guy in Sorrento and....
Im new here and fairly new to duck hunting. I was researching wood duck boxes and was wondering if anyone has tried to use them around the St. Charles Parish area? I am in a lease close to the Bonnet Carre spillway and was thinking about giving the boxes a try to increase the population around our area.
