I just put my new blind on my boat and plan on hunting big branch. Tell me what you think guys think of it. It is first time hunting out of an aluminum haul. Also has anyone seen any birds at all on the lake?

Anyone have any suggestions as to where to go for Teal season opening weekend? I cant seem to find any in my usual spots. I thought Lake Maurepas was gonna be better but I havent found em yet. Lake Verret, havent had a chance too..anyone seen teal in either these lakes or anywhere else please let me know! I need a hunt openin day!

it is still early. the migration is probably just....
We drove down to the lease in Grand Chenier and put out the decoys yesterday afternoon after church. We saw a few teal and mottled ducks but nothing to get really excited about. I hope ya'll stir them up Saturday and send some our way.
Scout PAC this morning, not so good. Saw 1 flock of teal 12-15 and 1 other pair. Saw a few big ducks but that's about it....

Went to set Aligator lines this morning and was impressed by the number of teal in the area. Large flocks and small bunches all around. Should be another great teal season this year. Going to run the aligator lines tomorrow morning, will let you know how it looks.

Me and my dad are looking at taking a trip anywhere from canada to mexico for a duck hunt. We are looking for a do-it-yourself type deal. Has anybody had any experiences on public land duck hunts in other areas besides lousiana?

Reports/sightings are starting to increase as predicted with full moon. Migration map has increased reports and getting word of birds showing up in North and SW LA. Less humidity and sun angle making it seem a little more like hunting season. Let's hear some duck sighting reports.

Saw two nice flocks of teal around cow island near forked....
Does anyone know where I can get a remington 870 supermag barrel. I have a 26 inch barrel on it now and would like to get a 30 inch slick barrel (no rib). Any info would be great.
My property behind the house flooded with all of the rain this week. I went ride to the back this mourn and saw several flocks of bwt. Hopefully i still have some water next weekend. We still don't have any in bayou black, so i will be hunting behind the house hopefully!

Boat Stuf in Harvey used to carry fiberglass blinds a....
I bought a new pair of waders last year and they fit well except for they are too long in the legs. Is there any way to take out a couple inches? I can use them like they are but it would be much easier to get around if they fit better.

No you can't really 'shorten' them. You would have to cut....

I put out a few decoys yesterday and jumped a wood duck.....

I've got an old 870 wingmaster that I got at a pawn shop several years back. Shoots great but it's beat to hell, All the bluing is gone (got a nice brown patina on it though), and the stocks look like it got caught by go devil prop. The first place I would check is at your local NAPA. Some....
Was at the lease in bayou black all weekend and didn't spot any teal. saw a couple hundred wood ducks and a few summer mallards. Lease look pretty good, the salvania is somewhat under control. Hopefully we can get some birds in by the 11th! Anyone out there spot any teal yet?

That's a fine looking pup. I watched your training....
Breast out the coots an make sausage with them. Add 60% pork with them an some greenonions with a little garlic . Talk about Good. When the duck are not flying go shot a coot. Great for the kids too shoot an a little bigger than a black bird .You will get more bang for the buck with high price of steel shot.

I've never paid any attention to the Gallinules and Rails season mainly because I didn't really know what they were. I found out the Gallinules are nothing more than the coots I see all over. I see alot of mudhens (Rails) too. Are these birds good to eat? None of the folks I hunt with kill them or eat them. Are the limits on them in conjunction with your daily teal/duck limit? Has anyone had any experiences with Wildwings Kennels on the Westbank? Someone recommended him to my girlfriend for our young pup and I would like to get some feedback whether it be positive or negative. She talked with him today and he seemed to be a pretty straight up guy. His price is a little higher than most, but if it's worth it I really don't mind paying.

well I bought this 23hp ducks unlimited edition just befor Hurrcain Katrina and I ran it maybe twice befor it dissapeared a couple days after the storm, well police report was filed and I put in a call to go devil and listed the motor as stolen simply because they ask you for your serial number to check the motor when you need a part for it, being its the only place you can buy parts, so 2 weeks.... I may be wrong but I think duck hunting is only lottery....
Anyone see any teal yet? I saw two nice flocks in PAC while fishing the hercules rodeo last weekend. Both flocks had between 7-15 teal, they really got my blood pumping!

Needs some opinions on Training/shocking collar for my lab pup. He just made 6mo old and I believe it's that time coming around the corner for a collar to start getting the hang of the finishing touches. I've heard about SportDog, TriTronics and Dog Tra; but all you waterfowlers with experience in training and hunting with Labs, which is the best? Thanks. Can't wait for the 11-12th next month!!
