The QDMA Central Louisiana Branch had its annual Banquet last night August 14th 2010. I had the honor of meeting and interviewing the CEO of QDMA, Brian Murphy. Brian told me that Louisiana was one of the largest supporters of QDMA. In the last 5 years Louisiana has been numbers 1,2,and 3 for members in the NATION! All- there is a guy on here selling a green 2002 Toyota Tacoma for $4900 and is doing so illegally. He claims to be working on a cruise ship and wants monies sent to EBay and says the car is in Atlanta and will ship free. The car is in fact listed on Ebay with a dealer in Nashville. I spoke with the dealer personally and he had numerous calls regarding the same.

Last weekend, I took my ASVAB (ARMED SERVICES VOCATIONAL APTITUDE BATTERY)and scored a 73, not bad at all, one point away from being able to be a candidate for an officer, and scored high in mechanics and some other part. Prices are changing in the seafood industry. Just last Saturday a friend of mine bought medium size crabs for $5 a dozen, today they are $21 a dozen. its only gonna get worse!!

The State we live in. The State completed a 10 million dollar State Park between Abbeville and Intercoastal City in Vermilion Parish but not doesn't have the money to open it. Empty camps, lakes and much more that can't open. B y the time Obama is finished down here with the oil industry there will be lots more that are closed due to lack of funds.

Congratulation boys and girls of the 2010 Terrebonne Parish Youth Hunter Education Challenge (YHEC) team on their repeat State Championship win in the Junior and Senior Divisions held at Camp Grant Walker this past weekend.
The Quality Deer Management Association held its annual deer scoring event last night at the Avoyells Council On Ageing in Marksville La. This was the QDMA's seventh year to hold this event . It has grown rapidly over the past seven years. There were over 60 people who showed up and over 21 deer scored. This says alot for Central Louisiana. Putting the final touches on some optimization work and had a few errors during the migration. Some queries that took a half-second now take fractions of a millisecond and have cut CPU utilization about 70%. It's been interesting to see how we can squeeze performance out of this thing.

New word is the West side of the river is now closed. That leaves only the East side and it's on fire right now with schoolie trout everywhere. Come on down and fill your freezer cause it won't be long before some 'expert' decides that the East side should be shut down as well to protect the heritage of the blue heron!
