Spring Time is the best time of the year to get in on some great Sacalait and bass fishing . We fish the marshes south of Houma and load the boat with Sacalait ... now we need some warm weather for it to happen. Any warming trends between fronts will be awesome . The water warms up into the high 50's and creeps into the 60's and they will go crazy . Look for clear water fish to turn on first....
So, 'Idle hands are the devil's workshop.' It applies if you read last time in reference to Rexburn because it depends on what you go to. While I might appreciate Rexburn, this is something that I want to expect. This essay might have some answers for you. It is why it is so salient for you to find out more with respect to Rexburn.
I decided to try to catch some catfish in the Mississippi today, since I've read in other posts the best time to fish the river is when the water is high or rising. All the conditions seemed pretty good and I was at what seemed like a good location, but I scratched... not even a bite. I was fishing tight line using cut bream, hot dogs, and night crawlers for bait. I'm not sure if I could....
I've always fished Lake Verret in the spring and summer for catfish but I've been wondering how they run in the winter months. I was thinking of going next week but not sure of what to expect. Can anyone with winter experience for cats chime in?
I have my regular spots to try and they still have to eat but not sure if they are very active in winter.
The LA. record was broken by a 100 lb. young boy that caught a fish that weighs more than he does.I beleive he was fishing with 60 lb. test on a Penn spinning reel on a Shakespear rod.I always love to here about records being broken for Blues because it makes you want to go out there and catch your record breaker.
Ive been wanting to set out some juglines in the amite but im not sure how to make or use them.sounds simple enough but im sure theres much more to it,any advice would be helpful. Also,How is the fishing, particulary catfishing affected when the wind is blowing out of the south at 15 to 18 mi/h?
Cajun Lures Customer Derek has been catching some solid sacalait out of Henderson using the Slim Jimmy. He was using Living the Dream and Red Ice colors to catch his fish. Tightlining his bait on a 1/16oz jig head fishing near pilings in 5-9ft of water along the interstate. Today Derek and his buddies hauled in 86 slabs. Nice Job Derek!
This bait is so good that the blues come up to eat the pieces that are floating from rebaiting.I buy the raw bacon with the most fat on it.Then 1 strip at a time I roll it up tightly and double stick the bait with the hook. The fat oils and smell of the bacon really work well for me.I fish with 30 lb.mono on 50 lb. leaders and triple swivels.I fish 3 ft. off the bottom with size 4 pyramid....
I'm relatively new to the Amite river and to catfishing.I was catching some nice 6 t0 7 pounders while the water was a few ft. higher than it is now.Since the water has dropped to what I assume is its normal stage, the fishing has slowed way down and i'm only catching small catfish.Ive been tight-lining with chicken liver right off my pier, what changes should I make to fish the river at its....
Went fishing for sacalait yesterday and ended up catching 5 bass, a few perch, and 1 sacalait. The bass were nailing the shiners as soon as the line was hitting the water! I caught the perch on a salt n pepper tube jig tipped with some white power bait and worms. The sacs were hiding from us but I got one on a shiner out of Stump Canal. Caught some of the bass on Humble and at the mouth of....
