CRAPPIE/YELLOW BASS: White perch guide, Noe Garcia, is still catching crappie(white perch/sac-a-lait) in depths of 22 to 25'. He reports he is doing much better on his brush piles located in the middle of the lake and states those in main lake coves are no producing currently. Maybe the water temp and oxygen levels are better there. He is using a tight line, live shiners and is fishing over.... Read More

There was a slight positive change last week on my favorite fishing hole as water temperatures fell a couple degrees due to northeast winds blowing every day and night temperatures falling into low 70s for several nights. However, the main.... Read More
I'm headin for Toledo Bend State Park South for Labor day. I've never fished that end and never fished stripers. Are they active/biting this time of year? Any recommendations welcome.

Hey guys i made one trip to Henderson last weekend and it was my first trip ever to that area. I did pretty well catching around 40 or so bass with only 2 keeper size but released one of them. We did pretty well on the sac a lait out there also. Caught 5 or so with one going 2.2 lbs. Can anyone tell me if there are ever any fishing tournaments out at Henderson? is there any way to find.... Went out to Henderson Swamp this morning with one of my friends from school and we had a blast. I've always driven over henderson on the way to Lafayette for basketball tournaments and i always thought to myself 'wow that looks like it would be a great place to fish' Well we made the easy 35 minute drive from Baton Rouge to the launch at 6 am this morning. Clueless about where to fish out.... Read More
Looking to go to the Lower Atchafalaya Basin this weekend to catch some gnarly goggle-eye. If you have been pestered with goggle-eye hitting your artificial bass lures, I have a solution for you. Just send me a private response with the rough location and I'll come and do my best to relieve you of your problem.
Have typically fished in the Bayou Pigeon area around Catfish Lake...but the.... Read More
Help me out. I'm hearing that Lake Larto is EXTREMELY low right now. I have a trip planned the first week of October and hate to waste my time if there is no water.
The lady that runs Uncle Bud's says the lake is only an inch or two low. Can someone that doesn't stand to make money off of me tell me what the lake level is???

Made a trip up to old river last sunday and the fishing wasnt the best but we had a great time. i went up there with one of my friends from school and ended up puttin a whoopin on him in the fish count. We got a late start and ended up at Old River landing at 8 o clock. Picked up some shiners, then headed out to Alligator point to try our luck with the sacs. NOTHING. After an hour of.... Read More

Hello, Anglers. Hopefully we have just experienced the hottest weather this year and just maybe we are looking at more modest temperatures. While hot weather is still in the forecast, we at least should see daytime temperatures back in the low to mid 90s this week and away from the 100 degree readings we have had the.... Read More

LAKE CONDITIONS: The lake level is 167.8 and minimal generating is scheduled with one unit running most weekdays from 3-5 p.m. to maintain downstream flow. The surface temps remain high and are running from 86 at sunrise to as high as 93 mid-afternoon. Water conditions are excellent throughout the fishery but boaters are reminded to use caution due to low water levels.

Hello, Anglers. We're almost to mid August and a lot of summer 2010 is in the rear view mirror which suits me just fine. Obviously, I'm not a student nor a teacher or I'm sure I would have different feelings since it is almost time for summer break to come to a halt. Grade.... Read More
Ok, I will ask for help. We have done quite a bit of 'FISHING' and very little 'CATCHING'. Sunday afternoon I found some 6 to 8 inch bass all in one spot and nothing (bass, bream, white perch)anywhere else. Is it me, or is it slow for others. I am fishing out of Butte LaRose and throwing most of what is in the box.
Don't want to know your favorite holes, just some tips if it is just me.
I went through 4 boxs of worms in about 2 hours. I caught these fish off the bank, fishing on the bottom with a worm, even the bass was hitting! Crazy because I never seen bass hit on the bottom or bream.
I'll be heading to toledo bend next weekend and wanted to know which bridges have lights on them to fish at night? Also, anyone have any good reports on sacs and bass? Trying to learn the area and just want to put a few fish in the boat! thanks!!
CRAPPIE/YELLOWBASS: Patterns have changed very little this week on crappie with brush piles in 20 to 30 feet and live shiners the most consistent approach and 20 to 30 crappie considered a good trip. Yellow bass are still hitting on jigging spoons and tailspinners in the back portions of major creeks. The yellows do move around and follow the baitfish(shad) so you may need to do the same. I....
