I took these photos of a fish kill in pond off Harrison Avenue. I'm not sure what caused it other than the heat and amount of weeds/algae in the ponds this year. It seems like there is lot more of that junk floating in the ponds this year. It's a shame there were some really nice sized bass, catfish, and bream floating along the shore.
I sunk my boat last week off of Old River in the spillway and my tackle boat floated off. I know this is a shot in the dark but just would like to know if someone seen or has it. I'll give money for a reward. Thanks
When did it become ok to run right pass a floating camp? I have boats constantly run 25 feet from my camp wide open in Bayou Black. My kids are trying to fish perch while I'm working. Boat after boat pass like its nothing. Very disappointing.
I was told that apple snails were a problem because they had no natural predators. the frogs I have been catching are full of apple snails. I have included some pics. On hard ground apple snail shells can be seen by the hundreds. they are all empty with no marks to the shell. So I guess they regurgitate the shell?
I and several other long time friends are fishing in north Mississippi on a private lake this weekend. We have a gentlemen's bet (and many cash side bets) who will catch the biggest and most bass. I am a perch jerking and salt water guy and no nothing about bass fishing.
Rules: I can only use one bait/lure all weekend and it cannot be live.
Wifey loves too fish, so against my better judgement I took her thinking it's too hot for sac-a-lait. I was pleasantly surprised that we put 14 nice sac-a-lait in the boat. Got me some supper and browning points with the wifey to boot!!! How bout that sounds like!!!!
I was curious if anyone knows why this happens. all catches go in the same ice chest, so its not like some get hot and some don't. One of the pics is of sacalait. both fish caught same day same place. Same goes for the pic of frogs, what yall think
I caught this big boy in Lake Concordia 2 weekends ago. The water on the north end was so clear you could see to the bottom. He swam under my boat so I grabbed his tail and pulled him in, he was 100lbs.
I have an old reel that is what I call free spool/direct drive. It is silver with century on the side with the handle. Stamped on the bottom of the foot is 100. Does anyone know who the manufacture is. Johnson made a green spin cast, but I could not find this one.
I'm looking to stock a few Rio Grande Cichlids in my 1/2 acre pond. I know alot of guys used to catch them in and around NOLA fly fishing. If anyone might be making a trip soon and wouldn't mind parting with some, please contact me.
A friend and I went fishing at Chicot Park Sunday afternoon and this guy flagged us down as we were passing the Cleco launch. Check out his problem. He said he after unloading the boat he put the truck in drive and it wouldn't go it just rolled back into the water. This proves that there's something worst than not catching fish. This was a bad fishing trip for him.
While fishing on the Lower Natalbany Sunday, a boat pulled up and asked us if we could identify a fish that jumped into their boat. Sure enough and sad to see, it was a big Asian Carp close to 30lbs. So that means they're going to be in Tickfaw and Blood River as well. Not good.
