I don't really advertise my freelance services on here, as most of my trips get passed down from Hunter or word-of-mouth. For those of you who don't know me, I have been fortunate enough to have mated for Capt. Hunter Caballero of Paradise Outfitters, who is arguably one of Venice's finest tuna captains, since February of 2009. I have spent the last few winters mating for Capt. Nick Stanczyk.... Read More

Couldn't find any lane snapper or other species given our time out there! Our.... Read More
It's been awhile since I've posted so I figured now would be a good time since the winds blowing and I'm not fishing. Last trip I fished was Saterday, 4-12, the day before the front came through. The fishing was awesome! I had one guy come down that was eager to hammer on some yellow fins, and that we did! We had his limit of yellow fins in the boat, realeased two yellowfins and caught a few.... Read More
Summertime is just around the corner folks. Our spring fishing in Venice has been about as good as it gets. The lumps produced a few decent tuna this year, but it was far from spectacular. That did not really matter though. Instead of chumming and drifrting all day we would run to the floaters on nice days. Live baiting 60 to 100 pound yellowfin tuna in early March was the ticket. There has been.... Read More

So rumor has it allegedly the state opened the red snapper season 12 months out of the year seven days a week! I have not read any literature as proof to this, or spoken to Law officials about this! But wouldn't it be really cool if it was true!! I'm pretty sure it Is!! But before I go out there catching.... Read More

The first action is a severe reduction in the Recreational Red Snapper.... Read More
Friday we went to my honey hole and the big girls were their. Denise Kessler had the biggest at 22 lbs. We caught others that were 10. to 15 lbs. The big snapper are still in shallow water. Most of the sows were caught just off the bottom.
Quick report. Had Janet and Mike from Idaho on board the Triple Threat. Yep, all the way from Idaho. Janet had set up the trip of inshore fishing, offshore fishing and lodging at Saltgrass as a birthday present to her husband. Unfortunately the weather was not the greatest so we opted to stay 'fairly close'. The decision was a good one as Wade and I had two exhausted fishermen after.... Read More
