It was a very cool and beautiful morning on the Sabine wma over looking a pipeline between two pine plant ion stands. Around seven thirty several does we're on top a hill eating when they all looked up and towards the north side of the pipeline where there is a creek running across and that's where I first seen my buck.
He managed to walk about twenty yards by the time I got my sights....
This deer was killed in Claiborne Parish near Athens. This is the 4th deer that I have killed and have mounted from this stand. By far, my best deer. 10 points, 20 wide, 195 pounds. Killed Saturday morning at 280 yards
Olivia Daigle, 11, 5th grade student at University Laboratory School, bagged her first buck during youth season in West Baton Rouge Parish. The huge 8 point dropped with one shot from Olivia's 7mm-08. She was hunting with her dad and sister.
My brother killed this rare prize on December 22. We have been having him on camera for 2 years now and he has never lost his rack. When he shot the buck he thought it was a big hard horned buck, but when we tracked down an hour later with a dog he realized that he shot 'Fuzzy' which is what we named him 2 years ago. He weighed 220lbs, had 6 3/4 inch bases, 23 inch beams, and a 13 inch inside....
My name is Tayler Richard. I live in DeQuincy, Louisiana and I am a member of Carter Creek Hunting Club on the Sabine River. On 10/26/15 my fiance' and I were headed out to make an evening hunt and we were heading to two different stands. I dropped him off at his stand and headed to my stand (A stand I have never hunted before so I wasn't completely sure where it was but, figured it wouldn't....
Better to be lucky than good! The deer were already there when we got to the stand. Carson was adamant that he was staying I wanted him to go to another stand. He refused. 20 minutes later I got the call to come get him. 'I shot a big one!' I thought - yeah right. He scored 153 1/8 at Simmon's.
this buck is the first Deer that I've killed in four years off a 20 acre block of timber that I've been hunting for the last twelve years I've just been planting a three acre food plot and made two man made water holes on the property trying to get a good deer to show up last year I had six does and a narrow horned big bodied six point after the acorns started falling last year the deer....
While bow hunting in Tensas I spotted two young bucks coming to my climber. They were very wary as they kept looking and smelling in my direction. I did my best to remain still and arouse as little suspicion as possible. After 10-15 minutes I here something walking through the brush. I see the two bucks heads pop up and I knew another deer was coming. Within seconds I see a massive antler emerge....
When I got on the stand Saturday October 3, I was expecting to see deer with the cooler weather but not a shooter buck. The buck came out and started eating locus beans directly under my stand. He wasn't very wide but he made up for it in beam length and mass. He weighed in at a hefty 225.8lbs.
I went hunting in the POURING rain and got this great 8 pt with a very symmetrical rack! I shot him with a 243 single shot rifle with a Nikon ProStaff 3x9 scope on my Dad's (David Netherland)1135 acre lease.
