I went hunting in the POURING rain and got this great 8 pt with a very symmetrical rack! I shot him with a 243 single shot rifle with a Nikon ProStaff 3x9 scope on my Dad's (David Netherland)1135 acre lease.
I haven't done much deer hunting in my life, I've always stuck to duck and squirrel hunting. But this year I needed some meat in the freezer so I decided to go. With no stand or blind I sat against a willow about 20 yards behind the duck hole where I've seen a few deer while duck hunting. I can here things walking through the water in the flooded woods but never could see it. Finally after a....

My family has a beautiful piece of land in between Amite and Watson and I've always enjoyed going out there whether it be to just sit in the stand and enjoy the peace and quiet or even just to take my friends out to show them what it's all about - mainly to get out of Baton Rouge where I spend most of my days.
I'm the type of gal that loves more than anything to go hunt but am a firm....
Killed this big 10 running dogs in the Atchafalaya Basin January 10 2015. Dogs jumped a doe he was with apparently and took her on a race. He decided it was time to slip out the hunt but he slipped up instead and met the business end of my Remington 870 12ga. Best deer of my life so far and proud to have him on the wall!
Sittin on my stand and it was almost 70 degrees that day i was fighting lady bugs and mosquitos. I had been sitting for about an hour and my son had killed a small buck already. I was thinking of leaving early because it was so warm but decided to sit for a while longer. About 30 minutes later out comes 3 bucks. I was hunting the pipeline and didnt have much time to look at the other 2 before....
It was my first time to hunt out of Louisiana with my uncle, cousin, and brother n law. The ground had snow and the wind was blowing about 22. I been seeing a nice 8 point during a few hunts and it was getting close to the end of the week and I haven't shot a buck yet. So me and my cousin was hunting in a ground blind and my brother n law was hunting where I been seeing that 8 point. So I told....
This granddaddy buck was killed by Joe Landrum from parish line hunting club in Washington parish on the afternoon of Jan 7th. This deer has been seen for many years on game cameras but never during the day. It scored 156 and 2/8..
Well my son finally was able to take his first buck. Now I know it isn't as big as the other deer posted here but I couldn't be more proud. I had the privilege to share the experience with both him and his step sister for her fist buck and it makes it all worth it. Priceless memories.
Hard to believe that he's just a six point . I killed this buck Thanksgiving Day afternoon at 5:20 pm . He came out from a thicket with his nose to the ground and tried to head back as fast as he came out but my trusty Savage Model 110 .300 Win Mag stopped him in his tracked .
Was late in the evening and a good size buck came out chasing a doe. I was had just enough time to pick up my gun and find him in the scope. I yelped to get him to stop and fired. Thought he was a big 6 but was surprised when we found him he was a 183 pound 8 point. I couldn't ask for a better deer for my first buck definitely a hunt ill never forget!
