Saturday, April 12, 2014 Texas Boyz Having Fun Down In Grand Isle
Had the pleasure of taking some Texas boyz fishing, Steve Roberts and Jason Simmons. Stopped by T-Pops station and picked up some live minnows and headed south to Bobby Lynn's marina. This was their first time down in Louisiana and we wanted to show them a great time on the bayou.
Saturday I took the girls out and fished the Rigolets and Bayou Peroit areas. The wind was really bad so we just stayed close to the wall and anchored. They were fishing Bait Shrimp tight lined on the bottom and caught a nice mess of Reds including a very nice Blue Cat. Plenty of throwback rat reds which made for some great action and a fun afternoon.
Last Minute Opening Saturday!!!! I have a spot for this Saturday for a group of 2-4 people for a Easter weekend fishing trip! The fishing will be great this weekend with warming weather the trout should peek their heads out and give us a good day after this full moon that is passing now. We have a strong upside on the tide the next few days with a steady Easterly wind which pushes good clean.... Read More
We woke up to cold and windy conditions this morning but the sun was shinning bright so Capt Josh and I decided to go look around and see if we could find some clean water on the backside of that crazy front that passed through Monday night. Our First 2 stops in Lake Merchant we found dirty water and not much activity but at our 3rd stop deep in the marsh we found what we where looking.... Read More
I am taking a trip to Grand Isle this weekend and again at the end of the month. I have been fishing the past few years without a boat and mainly fished the rocks and beach by the marina. This year we are lucky enough to have access to a boat. We are going to fish for Specs and Reds but would like to find a rig or two that.... Read More
Joey Lupo and crew were back on the big Bluewave today. Our first stop found the trout jumping into the K2 just about every cast under corks. Matrix Shad Tiger, Shrimp Creole and the Chartreuse Reel Dat Shrimp Lures were getting it done. Once the bite tapered off we found several redfish eating up the Matrix also under a cork. We fished several other areas picking away at the fish. We.... Read More
Even with the strong winds this week I have been able to put together some very nice boxes in lake P. The name of the game was finding clean water and that has been on the east side of the lake. I made 3 trips Thursday -Saturday and each day was the same results. Averaging 35 trout and a few keeper reds with a ton of bull reds. Has been a great week and should only get better once the shrimp.... Read More
Great day fishing with Jay Swindle of Community bank in Hattiesburg, Ms and his crew. Jay has fished with me out of Shell Beach several times and just can't get enough. His crew consisted of Billy and Robert, who ran with me in my boat, and Capt. Frank ran Jay, Charles, and Charlie. We fished the Biloxi marsh and both boats did well. The total between both boats was 35 reds, 30 trout, 9 drum.... Read More

Baseball tourney make customer move fishing weekend. I now have the weekend of 25th, 26th and the 27th open if someone would like to fish during the spring run. Still doing much of the same for the past few weeks, but the trout are starting to show them selves in the regular spots around the Island. Redfish are the goto fish for the most part but trout are warming up later in the day..... Read More
Guys, I'm looking for some feedback on the Blazer Bay 2220 Professional or 2220 Fisherman. I am toying with the idea of upgrading and would like some feedback from guys who own this rig or have ridden in one. I know this boat will be skinny enough for the marsh I fish, but how well does it handle a chop? I currently own a Skeeter ZX 20 bay boat and have fished out of it for 6 years. Thanks in.... We have been catching some fish through all this ferocious weather but the trout have been running small especially for April. This latest video was shot just before this huge april front. Calling for 90% rain so we went LOL. Had the lake to our self except for another Die Hard Capt..... Read More
More of the same nasty conditions on Monday morning. Day 2 with Bob Jardine and Allen Hickman was another great experience for the Pennsylvania crew. The winds were howling 20-25 out of the south and I was very apprehensive on how our day would go. Bob had the big red honor from the previous day so Alan was looking to bump him down with an even larger redfish. Of course before that could happen.... Read More
Windy weekend on the DU! Bob Jardine and his customer Allen Hickman arrived at the Lakehouse late Saturday night. They flew in from Pennsylvania to tackle the mighty south Louisiana redfish. We left the dock Sunday morning around 6:30 with the winds around 12 mph. I know they wanted big reds but I convinced them to try the trout for at least an hour. Bob & Allen had no problem with the idea.... Read More
Picked up a nice crew from the Chateau De Ryan camp on Bayou Dularge Saturday morning. I had 2 couples from California that went to school with Ike & Coogan Ryan. The guys treated them to a night of bowfishing with Capt John Verrett(The real deal when it comes to bowfishing at night for redfish) followed up by a trip with me in the daylight hours. Our first stop was very slow due to no tidal.... Read More
4/10/14....Day 2 with Perry Pellegrin with Shell was another good day on the DU! We only had a few hours to fish as Perry and his guest had to get back early. We fished roughly 3 hours catching 45 nice trout and 4 reds by 9:45 am. Swim baits in bunker and blueback got the job done quickly. The trout were feeding on small minnows and the swim baits mimicked what they were eating. The trout were.... Read More
