To great spring time days on the water. Sunday I had the pleasure of having nice couple, Mary and Roy on board the Purebay. The bite was slow but we put together enough trout for a fish fry and Miss Mary had a plats with her 8 pound redfish. Along with that was a couple smaller reds and a sheep on plastic. This was Mr Roy's second trip with me and can't wait for the next one. And he better.... Read More
Starting Friday I fished four days straight counting today. Conditions have been near perfect with the winds laying down and temperatures up. Under these circumstances the fishing was hot, but not as hot as it should have been. Friday we worked hard for 25 trout with and a red. Some folks out there did better but the bite was really spot oriented. Thanks to Capt. Marty Lacoste for setting.... Read More
Need opinions, do you fill your boat up every trip or run half full. I am thinking about running half full and only filling up as needed. This will help me flush the old gas, run lighter in the marsh and less trailer weight.
I fish mostly out of Rigolet's marina. The last few trips we have struck out completely. Is anyone catching trout in the Rigolet's? I usually fish with a DOA or Voodoo shrimp with a chunk of dead shrimp. Any suggestions? Thanks
Made another one of my frequent fishing trips down to dularge this morning because I had to drop my boat off at Pellegrin Marine in Houma this afternoon to get its annual service. Headed down early this morning with 3 friends from Baton Rouge, Elliot Diel, Corey Holmes, and Logan Messina from Dallas. We launched the boat at 6am and we were off to fish the bayous and marsh on the northeast end.... Read More

Fish are scattered in Delacroix but as long as u stick and move U will put a good box together. 84 trout 1 redfish me and my clients put together. Hit a couple trout powerpole down after 5 min and no bite continue to drift till the next bite. Matrix shad shrimp creole tight lined or under.... Read More
Made another trip last night. Good sized fish with the biggest going 32'. Three man limit pretty quick, these fish are feeding like crazy right now. Starting to find plenty crabs in the stomachs of the reds. Also seeing more and more crabs as we are bowfishing. Good signs, maybe crabs wil be abundant this year.
Launched around 0600 and headed to our favorite trout spot.Found low, cold water and not a single bite. Water temp was 15 degrees colder than last weekend,so we decided to go after some reds and allow the water to warm up a little to see if the trout would turn on a little later. Found reds stacked up and running the shoreline at our first stop but they wouldnt hit anything we threw at them.We.... Read More
David Deshautelle was back onboard the big Bluewave today with his good friends Chris Thevenot and Scott Leduc. What a day with these guys!!! My stomach still hurts from all the laughing we did today!! Great guys and a great catch they had!!!! No fast and furious action but steady action. Patience and persistence led to a full box of nice trout. Matrix Shad Tiger bait and Green Hornet did.... Read More
les Wood, and James Barton from Texas joined me on the Gator Tail last night to shoot some fish. We had a great ride out watching the sunset, we settled in right at dark. The water wasn't the clearest, but the gars were out in full force while the reds were hiding. It was James first bow hunting trip, but didn't take him long to start sticking fish. We only saw about 15 reds, which are.... Read More
It was great having John, Jeremy, and Joshua Doucet back onboard the big Bluewave today. The trout bite got off to a good start until a rude boater motored right through the fish and shut everything down (some people just should not be allowed to own a boat). About a hour later we got on another good run before the bite quit. We made one more move and found the mother load!!! Fish after fish.... Read More
Fished Delacroix late yesterday with my daughter Sydney and had a great time. Found some nice trout that were willing to take plastic slowly retrieved in the water column as Syd still has some issues mastering the techniques of the cork. Finished up with 42 pretty trout and a couple of bonus reds. As always, plastic and steel is the ticket.
Hi guys, I would really like to take my boyfriend on a surprise fishing trip in Louisiana. We are from Austin, Texas and we both love Louisiana and would like to go in August or September. I don't know a whole lot about fishing, but I do know he loves to catch red fish. Are there any trips, guides, or spots that y'all would recommend during that time of the year? I really appreciate it! Jamie
I made a pass at The Boat Show today with my buddy Big John. It was a good show with lots of interesting booths and plenty of expensive plastic. Saw a lot of old friends and the SeaTow gang. Come springtime when I run from Myrtle Grove to Elmer's Island, it's good to know that SeaTow has got my back.
