Inshore Fishing in Fourchon / Grand Isle in Southeast Louisiana
Tomorrow morning i'm going make a road trip to highway1 around Grand Isle to attempt wade fishing for the first time. I hear this is a pretty time of the year to catch a few along the highway which is blocks the big north winds. Just hoping for ANY recommendations(general locations, approach whether plastic or live, depths to focus on, maybe time frame, anything). Bringing my ol'lady along and....  Read More

Paul Diaz bow fished with me in the Gator Tail last night and fished in the Bluewave with me this morning. We found crystal clear water everywhere we went last night, but the Reds were hiding. Out of all the water we covered, we only saw about 30 reds and multiple gar fish.

The trout cooperated this morning and bit our Ultraviolet Matrix Shad all morning. A slow steady retrieve in 3-5....  Read More

Hello guys I was thinking about going down to the camp to fish tomorrow in Dulac/Cocodrie area. I want to stay in the marsh because I am using my 16ft boat tomorrow. What has been biting and in the morning or afternoon? live or artificial bait? If yall have any areas I should try at I would deeply appreciate it.

Thanks

Just hoping someone has some good feedback on putting a light bar on my bay boat. My idea is to mount a light bar to a pole where the front pedestal seat goes to enable me to put up and down easily. Run a plug in up front connected to switch on dash as I know they can be blinding to on coming boats. Anyone know how big I would need, I was thinking about a 42inch version? Thanks for any good....  Read More

Inshore Fishing in Delacroix Island in Southeast Louisiana
We hadn't been down to Delacroix in about a month, so my buddy and I decided to make an afternoon trip on Sunday. The weather was nice, so we headed out around noon. Getting to the Island we saw an old friend that we hadn't seen in 8 years, standing on side the road, that just got back from fishing crabs. We stopped to talk, and in between the long time no see, and what you been up to, we....  Read More

Growing up as a boy, we went fishing a lot, because I liked it. Even though we lived and fished in a great fishing area (SW Louisiana), I was often frustrated, because we didn’t catch many fish...

Went fishing for Bull Reds and had a surprise pop up. He drug around the Kayak for a bit and was not a happy camper. Thankfully some local crabbers tied me off and had a hatchet. Took about 10 good hits and he was done. Weight was between 70 and 90. Caught a few good bull reds and released them. Just wanted to thank the local crabbers down in the Du. Normally I do not target Gator Gar, but I....  Read More

Took a little scouting trip by myself today. I had heard about some big fish on a reef in the lake down Dularge so I braved the fog (very cautiously) to get out. I waited till 9 to leave the house hoping the fog would lift before I got down the bayou. That was a negative I only had about 1/4 mile visibility but it was enough. The first cast was a blank but the next 3 produced fish, then nothing....  Read More

Hello Again Cyber Anglers,

Took off for the holidays and also took the Pathfinder to Renovations for its yearly service. We still managed to get out and film more fresh editions of Between the Banks. We filmed two shows out of Boudreaux’s Waterfront Motel in Leeville. One was shot in the south Texaco field and the other near the old Power lines, which are gone now, at the southern end....  Read More

The winter weather can be unpredictable in South Louisiana. But the fish are easy to pattern this time of year . Cold fronts push them into deep canals and they move back out into the current and bays when we get a warming trend .
This year we have not had many hard cold fronts to push all the water out of the marsh . But the one we had over the weekend did . It has the reds and trout....  Read More

A pleasure having Big Will Russ and crew onboard the Bluewave again. We found the trout more active this morning and hitting our Ultra Violet Matrix Shad hard. They were not stacked up, as we had to drift to catch them. The bite was steady and most fish averaged 16-17 inches. The water clarity was actually a bit more stained from Saturday, but the trout bite was much better. When the tide....  Read More

It's always such a pleasure fishing with someone who I first met as a fishing customer, and then soon also becomes a dear friend to me! Jeff Crooke came down from Georgia to Dularge for some much needed fishing therapy! After battling what doctors called 'terminal colon cancer' for the most part of 2015, Jeff was back in his glory doing what he loves to do...catching fish! Over the last year....  Read More

Hello Again Cyber Anglers,

Went back to Boudreaux’s Waterfront Motel this past Thrusday. I wanted to check out my new Majic Tilt Trailer since I had Snap Traxx put on the boards at Renovations. I figured launching and driving on would now be a pleasure as predicted by Wade and Holly. They were right! I backed in until the back of the boat barely started to float, then I got out of the....  Read More

It's that time of year again where the sheepshead spawn turns ON! During the months of February through April, the sheepshead will migrate to the coast and nearby structures to spawn. This is prime time to do some stocking of the freezer with an AMAZING eating fish, while also catching redfish, and black drum as lagniappe! My great friends and clients, Harry and Caroline Burdette, joined me....  Read More

Hey Guys

Sadly, as the title states, I am missing my saltwater fly rod. After rinsing off my rod and my skiff at a power wash spot in Golden Meadow Friday January 29, I forgot to put the rod back in my truck. The replacement cost on these things is pretty ridiculous, so I'm hoping for a kind act by a Good Samaritan.

I'm offering a reward if any you can help me....  Read More

Two beautiful but, tough fishing days in Dularge. Water temps and conditions getting better everyday. Keep the western factor out of the wind and keep the Atchafalaya River where it belongs!

Saturday was the day we've all been waiting for to see the trout bite go wide open. Perfect weather on the outside but not as perfect on the inside. Confronted by dirty water and low salinity at every spot, I was not having confidence in finding speckled trout. My customers Nick Hatzis and Cody Jackson were on board today to get a fishing fix and that's what we did. I pointed the Blue Wave to....  Read More

Inshore Fishing in Delacroix Island in Southeast Louisiana
Capt. Jack wasn't at Sweetwater Marian today but Mr. Ronnie said that folks who headed out to fish the later part of the day did really well with the Specs. Most of the good report came in from the Pointe Fienne, Skippy Lake and Lake Batola area's. Ronnie said at least 25 boats came in with limits. The great news is the water is getting better and the Trout are still plentiful in the....  Read More

If you have followed Dularge reports this past week our trout bite has been tough. Our salinity is very low and I think it's been the main issue. I had Marty Hayden and crew back on the Bluewave today. We started where I had beat up on the reds yesterday but with the water temp was up a couple of degrees and the reds had moved out only leaving a few throwbacks. We moved around chunking our....  Read More

Vesco Rentals crew were back onboard today. The trout responded early today with the cleaner water. Not much tide movement, but the trout were much more active today than yesterday with the warmer water temps. We picked away at them and missed more than we caught. When things slowed down, plan B went into affect. Heads and puppy drum quickly Filled the K2, using bait shrimp on the bottom. ....  Read More
