We will have live bait for tomorrow. Capt. Jack took his shrimp boat out for a trial run today and they did pretty well for a first run. Going to make a few minor adjustments and head out again tomorrow. We will keep you posted on the bait situation for the weekend.

It was good having Kenny Siears back onboard today. Kade Siears and David Stafford also joined us. We found the reds stacked up at our first stop. We had multiple double hook ups. Once our limit was iced down in the K2, the guys played catch and release. We headed South after the guys had enough to go look for trout. The trout did not cooperate like the reds did, but we managed to pick away at.... Read More
I am coming fishing late September, which is a better fishing spot. We are going on a bachelor party, so we would like to fish in the evening and then eat/drink at a cool spot on the water. Would Lafitte or Delacroix be a better spot?
I am coming to New Orleans with a group of six guys total. We want to do a fishing trip that is close to New Orleans where we can drink beer and catch fish. We want to do a semi short trip due to limited time in NOLA. Would be open to charters, guided trips, big flat bottom boats. We are open to late morning, afternoon, or evening trip.
Also, we are all from Texas so need info on one day.... Read More
Been catching some nice drum (18'-22')at the L&N Bridge. Dead shrimp on the bottom. This one wore Jeremy out but he got it solo, I was just the netter. 4 keepers, this giant throwback, a few big sail cats released. Of course croaker, hardheads, and stingrays. At least we had some action. We were out there Monday afternoon from about 5-7:30. A school of about 20 dolphin came in as we.... Read More
I recently read an article (sorry can't remember where) and it was talking about how next year you may not be able to fish for red snapper in federal waters unless you have a commercial liscense or hire someone to take you? I may not have read it and understood it fully. Can anyone give me any information on this or explain what that means? Thank you.
Good day down in Dularge working the duck ponds! Pink Champagne matrix with a 1.5 gold spinner did the damage today. Always great when kids can go out and catch fish. Thanks to my friend Travis at reeling good charters for putting me on the fish!! If we would have had live minnows it would have been 15 reds in the box. Nevertheless it was a fun day!!
I had Robert , Trent and Reed onboard and we changed it up and did a evening trout trip to take advantage of the falling tide and that was ticket. Within 2 minutes of stoping the boat Robert landed the first trout and then a few more started coming in from the other guys, we trolled around and found what we where looking for 2 at time trout action so out went the anchor and we didn't move.... Patrick Miller and his son Michael came in from Houston to get in on some of our fishing. Michael currently swimming for Duke University had never fished before so after I stopped the boat, I gave him a quick lesson on how to work a spinning rod and a gold spoon. I trolled about 20 yards before the first red smacked our spoon. Powerpole went down and we didn't move until #15 hit the box. Since.... Read More
Black drum are a popular sport fish in Texas, Florida, and up the Atlantic coast as far as Virginia. They are eschewed among many anglers in Louisiana due to the abundance of redfish and speckled trout, but they are actually the most important commercial fishfish in Louisiana owing to the excellent meat quality and their popularity as imitation crab.
Day 2 with ESI had us waiting for a storm to pass before we could head out. We had three boats trout fishing and one boat that targeted reds. We were greeted with choppy seas and stained water. Second cast had a nice trout breaking the ice in the K2, then not another bite. We started moving around and found a slow bite. We had quality trout coming on our double rigged avocado Matrix Shad and.... Read More
Is it too late to go crabbing. I've taken my two boys a couple times the last few years in Lacombe off side if road but only caught a few small ones. Any suggestions on if and where I should try with them before school starts? Thanks!
I've been out of town at the World Deer Expo in Alabama since Thursday. Came in last night and picked up customers this morning and picked up right where I left off. Skull dragging the trout!! We arrived this morning to an absolute slugfest from the first cast. A couple of my guys were new and needed some coaching but we worked out the kinks in short order and just completely destroyed the.... Read More
