I've been out fishing at shell beach and point la hache. A couple weeks ago we caught 11 reds in point la hache. Any fishing spots near New Orleans you would suggest? Any success at the rigolets in Slidell?
Hello. I am new to kayak fishing. I have been out to shell beach once a month or so and was unsuccessful. Went out with some friends to point la hache a couple of weekends ago and we caught a lot of reds. Anyone know of some spots close to New Orleans? Any success in the rigolets in Slidell?
The bite was extremely slow all day with only about 25 bull reds registered out of over 700 angers on the water. Tide movement was little to none up until maybe 10:30 but a few reds were registered almost immediately. Team Marshyakkin waited all day but that winning bite never presented itself. With 30 minutes left in the tournament Kade Stuart caught about a 25 pound Black drum and this is....
what do you guys think. looks like the tides will be good and the wind should hold off. only ? is east or west side of LA1. You guys have any ideas and/or thoughts on this? shrimp or minnows always soft plastics. Kinda hard to wrap my head around this when its our first trip in the yaks. Just trying not to screw this up lol
Decided to add some type of lighting on the KC for the fall! I did that and left out around 6 am and went to a deep cut. Was cooler early and they had some rain coming through so I was hoping a few trout, drum or reds would be at the spot. I caught still a nice mess of hard heads, on shrimp and even jigging artificial on the bottom, but ended up with 10 trout, 3 specs and the rest white trout. 2....

Never Yaked in the marsh. We are looking to go to GM, Leevile or public launch in Fourchon. which one would be the most user friendly for marsh yaking virgins. Any guidance from you guys would be awesome
I met up with some buds in Buras on August 28 and fished till the 1st. We had a great time and caught fish till our eyes and arms exploded. The first morning we hired out a guide from kayakvenicela.com (Nolan, Captain Bryan's son). He was great. The first morning was windy and stormy so he took us to the canals in the Spanish Pass area. We all caught fish and had a great time. He did more than....
I entered this about a month ago. Did a little video using Ascend kayaks. Now its in the top 5, I'd appreciate it you could view and like . the winner will be chosen off those. Thanks Matyyaker. Or check out Charlie Melton on youtube.
Headed out in the morning with Kayak. Have not been in a while. Thinking either off of North side of hwy 1 between Fouchon and Grand Isle or Hopedale Hwy.. Anybody been fishing and doing good at any of those?
5 days in Buras with me and some buds. All we do is kayak fish. I know there are 2 or 3 put ins in Buras , but we would appreciate any suggestions on where to go. Reds in Florida are scattered.. so this will be new to us from the crazy fishing I have seen in videos. I have read that the reds meet up in the passes in the river once it drops.. we're willing to go wherever. Any help would be great.
I have a 2011 wilderness ride 135 I would like to trade for a Jackson cuda 12. I love my ride 135 but it's weight and length can be inconvenient at times.13.6' 80 lbs. great kayak just want something 12' and lighter. My ride is not for sale, trades only.
