This was my first solo trip down to Grand Isle, LA. I missed my wife and kids, but it was peaceful. I fished hard for 4 days solo in my kayak and a 1/2 day with my good friend Captain Danny Wray. The water was high especially the first two days, making sight fishing more difficult, but I caught several fish that gave away their location. The rest were caught by working grassy points with....
Family of four (11 and 12 aged kids) just purchased yaks. I have fished b4 in Florida off a yak. Looking for some places to take kids to learn/practice fishing from yak where we may have some activity, fresh or salt. If ya want to throw in a spot or two for trout/reds for me to tryout it would be appreciated too. We live in Pearl River but am looking anywhere on Northshore. Thanks!
My name is Tim. I just moved to Lake Charles from Illinois in August of last year and have been exploring ever since. I am an avid bass fisherman bein from where I'm from. That bein said, I just purchased a Hobie Outback last week and am lookin for fellow yak anglers to go fishin with and/or tips and locations for reds, specks and flounder. Thank you.
I recently moved to Lafayette and I am looking for some advice on areas to try for both fresh and saltwater. I've tried and had some success in Lake Martin catching some good sized bluegills. Any advice on other freshwater areas to try out. I live very near the Vermillion River and have been told about Charlo Lake on the southeast side of the airport.
Checked out the marsh after all the rain and found this nice Red who was hungry. Caught 2 small Trout and 2 small bass along with one gar,( all throw backs). Moved to another spot and got one more 17' red and called it a day. Was nice to get on the water after all the rain.
Hi, this is John Fehnel from Great Lakes Fly Shop here in Duluth MN. My friends and I are looking to take a kayak trip to Port Fourchon in January of 2017. I know its still a ways out there but this gives us plenty of time to get things together. We will be driving from Minnesota with kayaks in tow and will be staying at a VRBO in Grand Isle. We will be there for two weeks. We are looking for....

For Sale is a decent Old Town 160T Loon 16' tandem kayak. Hunter green in color. Very stable two person kayak that was always rated as one of the best kayaks in the market. Old Town now only makes the Loon in 12'and it costs $1000. Will sell this one for $390. Paddles got stolen, so I priced it considering you would need to buy your own.
Looking for opinions of the following tandem kayaks; Ocean Kayak Malibu two xl, Vibe 12t skipjack, Perception Pescador 13t. I've researched all, but wanted some advise from the pros here. Main area of use will be out of Grand Isle, ponds, bayous, and coastal marshes. Is there a particular company I should avoid, or are they all quality products? Use will be taking kids fishing; educational....

I am having a little difficulty with my kayak. I have scupper plugs in my kayak, but the last 3 times I have taken my kayak out, water has gotten into the kayak seat area and it also soaks my shorts. I'm not sure why it started doing this, but I want to fix, so I need a little help.
Hello fellow kayaker's. I have never fished in Louisiana waters before and after my brother fished in the boondoggle this past summer,I think I need to give it a go.!! I'm only getting 1 whole day to fish, so I'd love to make the best of it. I was wondering if I could get some info on where would be a good area to try and sight fish for some reds and tangle with some Ol snaggle tooths(trout).....
I have fished freshwater for years from my kayak but have never taken it to saltwater. I fished south Louisiana a lot when I had a boat but that was 20 years ago. Most of the places I fished would be too far to paddle and involve crossing more open water than I would like. And from what I have been told post hurricanes I probably would recognize anything. I am looking at heading down there on....

Decided to fish in some deep holes in golden meadow ( did not expect this) and landed a few black tips. I caught three of them, so I was not sure if they were in a school? I also noticed my line going crazy and landed in the KC a 37.4' Red Fish. I recently purchased a 65 qt YETI to use on fishing trips. A major PRO to the KC is that the YETI fits perfect in the back of the kayak. Many Kayaks....
