After 2years of preparation, Me and my good Friend finally decided to tango with Rio el Diablo! The Devils River is no easy river! we had low water and 35mph headwinds the entire 15mile stretch, and the limestone rocks can easily take out chunks. We camped 2 nights and fished 3 days.

Kayak fishermen can enjoy Bayou Saint John again as it will open to Lake Pontchartrain soon. Does any one know if or what type of fish can be expected to return to the bayou?
I'm relatively new to the area (Lafayette) and plan to take up inshore kayak/fly fishing. I moved here from northwest Montana where I fished rivers from rafts, drift boats, and inflatable pontoons. I also have a fair amount of white water kayak experience.
All of that said... I've narrowed my selection of kayaks down to two:
1) Jackson Cuda 14
2)Hobie pro Angler 14
Has anyone tried fishing the artificial reef structure off grand isle with a kayak? It looks to be 5+/- miles offshore in 50ish feet of water, but still within the 3mi boundary. Could make for some hassle free fun with our current snapper situation.
been doing all saltwater fishing since i got my yak. looking to get on some bass now. anyone recommend any kayak safe places to get on some good bass? any info will help thanks
Hit the beach in Pensacola yesterday. The Cobia and Kings wouldn't come out to play so we hit plan B. Checked out a few bottom spots and found some creatures willing to play,
Big Trigger, Big Snapper, Big Shark--Big Fun!
Everything caught on naked, frozen cigar minnows or Snapper Slapper jig tipped with a cigar minnow.
I've been working in NOLA for a while and I have a serious itch to scratch with my kayak. I'm getting off early tomorrow and Manchac is right on the way home. I've never fished the maurepas area. Manchac is the only place I've seen that looks feasible to fish....well, that or Ruddock. If anyone can give a little insight to these places, I would appreciate it.
With the weather starting to overall warm up, except for a few mild cool fronts coming through every now and then, the fish seem to be starting to be on the move. What are good kayak spots for the next upcoming weeks ahead?
