A few days ago I was motoring across Breton Sound and came across a horrible sight... Thousands of big mature redfish flying dead on the surface. They went on for miles and miles. I know anyone out there recently can confirm this. I took pictures and video. The fish were stacked up in a rip line with 'pogie foam'. That nasty brown foam that is a byproduct of pogie ships harvesting. The.... Read More

As most of you know, the MRGO rocks in Hopedale have been on fire. Had to go see for myself. I hadn't been to Hopedale since last fall so I was certainly looking forward to fishing out there. Phillip, Chase, and I arrived at BSM around 6:00 A.M. and were running down the spoil canal by 6:30.
We arrived in the MRGO and immediately fount gulls diving. After about a.... Read More
Finally got my boat back yesterday due to a bent shaft it's been almost a week. So this morning we woke up early and headed out from the rigolets the water was like glass and I went to my first spot BOOM it was on 75 specs by 8:30 and 11 white trout. Had the biggest trout of my life at the boat today due to a poor net boy he got away! Prolly about 7lbs hope to catch one like that come Monday for.... Read More

One stop shopping for trout; easy limits before 9:00am. We are having some of the best trout action of the year catching trout limits on a daily basis. Today, we were done by 8:20 with most trout averaging 16-18'. I still have openings available for June. Captain Olden 985-856-6494

Made the trip Friday morning from Prairieville to Delacroix with my Dad and my 2 sons (4 & 8 yrs old). Left the house at 4:00 and was a bit surprised that it started getting light around 5:20 on our way down.
Got the boat in the water and saw Capt. Jack just as we were about to pull off. Boat is smaller so wanted to fish on the inside. Capt. Jack gave us some directions so off we.... Read More
Got a bunch of big redfish being caught at the pass in Fourchon right now. Not too good to eat, but it doesn't take many before you get tired out. When's the last time you were too worn out to real in another big fish? Be safe. It's a potentially dangerous place, even when you know what you are doing. 1/2 mullet on the bottom. Big rod and reel.
I am a newbie looking for some information. I don't own a boat and would be interested in catching just a few speckled trout at the pier at Calcasieu Point. Would I be too far inland to catch any trout on the pier?
Day 3 with BISSO Marine for Houma Oilmans. Just when you think it can't get any better than the last two days....it does. With the forecast showing the winds picking up, we knew we had a short window. All it took was one stop and thirty minutes later at 6:50am it was a done deal. Two at a time just about every cast as fast as the baits hit the water. It just doesn't get any better. Double.... Read More
I'm taking my step sons fishing this weekend and wanted to put them on some specs. They are not experienced fishermen so I was hoping to find some live shrimp on the North Shore...and maybe some suggestions of an area that would be good to go (I haven't fished the lake in about 10 years so im going on gut). My first thoughts are the train trestles, that seems to be pretty hot right now. Any.... Read More
I would like nothing more then to go on a fishing charter. However most of these trips are expensive, unless a group can be put together. I am not looking to go on a fishing trip now, but most likely in the summer or fall. But I wanted to see if anybody was interested in getting a few guys together in order to save on costs?
I've never been crawfishing but I really would like to go and catch enough (20-25 lbs) for a small boil one weekend. My boyfriend has gone before but not since he was a little kid and doesn't really no where to begin.
I've asked around and people tell me to either go on Airline down towards LaPlace or to New Orleans East and watch out for snakes. Either way, I don't know what to.... Read More
Sweetwater Guide Service and Marina is officially the only marina of choice for me at Delacroix! This decision has come to me recently due to the impressively high level of services provided as well as the friendly attitude that I have come to expect. In years past, I have spread my business equally among the various launches so as not to hurt any one particular business owner. On my most recent.... Read More
I am looking at making a 3 day weekend trip with my wife in the near future. She has never fished for specks/red etc, but loves fishing. This would be a 1-day trip preferably. Any suggestions on a reputable guide would be greatly appreciated. I normally fish in the Venice area, so I am clueless to who/what is around the NOLA area. Thanks for your time.
