With the spawning season kick off, just wanted to remind everybody that we should try our best to conserve the bass fishery. It\'s not wise to keep stringers of spawning females every time out. I\'m guilty of sight-fishing the beds and all that, but I release all the fish I pull off of beds. Even catching a male off of a bed can do damage. Once the female lays her eggs and moves.... Made another one of my frequent fishing trips down to dularge this morning because I had to drop my boat off at Pellegrin Marine in Houma this afternoon to get its annual service. Headed down early this morning with 3 friends from Baton Rouge, Elliot Diel, Corey Holmes, and Logan Messina from Dallas. We launched the boat at 6am and we were off to fish the bayous and marsh on the northeast end.... Read More

Hi guys, I would really like to take my boyfriend on a surprise fishing trip in Louisiana. We are from Austin, Texas and we both love Louisiana and would like to go in August or September. I don't know a whole lot about fishing, but I do know he loves to catch red fish. Are there any trips, guides, or spots that y'all would recommend during that time of the year? I really appreciate it! Jamie
Launched out of Bob's Bayou Black Marina. Saw the pictures from a few wks ago. Knowing how good the fishing can be in and around the canals cross the Inner coastal, thought it was for sure the time to go. Went Fri. and didnt catch a single fish. Other anglers had the same outcome. Maybe caught one or two but nothing to right home about. Water temp. average about 50-55 *. Is another day of good.... Read More
I made a pass at The Boat Show today with my buddy Big John. It was a good show with lots of interesting booths and plenty of expensive plastic. Saw a lot of old friends and the SeaTow gang. Come springtime when I run from Myrtle Grove to Elmer's Island, it's good to know that SeaTow has got my back.
David Deshautelle was back onboard the big Bluewave today with his good friends Chris Thevenot and Scott Leduc. What a day with these guys!!! My stomach still hurts from all the laughing we did today!! Great guys and a great catch they had!!!! No fast and furious action but steady action. Patience and persistence led to a full box of nice trout. Matrix Shad Tiger bait and Green Hornet did.... Read More
Another great trout bashing trip today with good customer Kirk Breaux and Tess Boudreaux. With all the strong winds we had all week and overnight, we were not sure of what we were going to find. To our surprise we found clean water, calm winds, and hungry trout. Third cast produced a nice trout and it was one after another after that!!!! With one limit on ice the tide quit and switched. It.... Read More
Things were pretty busy here at Sweetwater Marina in Delacroix today. We probably launched about 65 boats, so even though Capt. Jack didn’t fish today we were able to get some good information for a report. The fishing was good. A lot of fish were caught in Skippy Lake, Pointe Fienne Bay, Lake Batola. We also had reports of lots of fish being caught in Lake John area and Four Horse Lake.... Read More
Made another trip last night. Good sized fish with the biggest going 32'. Three man limit pretty quick, these fish are feeding like crazy right now. Starting to find plenty crabs in the stomachs of the reds. Also seeing more and more crabs as we are bowfishing. Good signs, maybe crabs wil be abundant this year.
Great day on the water today with Mr. Edwin and his wife Kathy. This is their second trip with me. They came all the way from Indiana to catch some redfish. The first pond we ran into was loaded with big reds running in every direction. Those suckers did not want to bite. We caught one for every 20 we cast to, I'm looking at the fish 20' from the boat, passed the bait on their noses. We.... Read More
Great day with my son !!!We slept late and launched at 8am. We found the Redfish tourney boats in our honey hole today . So we did not want to mess them up. Went scouting and found another huge school of redfish !! Tails out of the water in every direction. Same deal as yesterday . Gold spoons and spinnerbaits did the trick . With the low water they were not on the banks , but on the edges.... Read More
