Day two with Patrick Spell and crew from Shreveport. We decided to target trout this morning, and it was the right call!! We found the trout stacked thick and they were hungry. It was two at a time every cast on the Matrix Shad and Vortex shad rigged on the Golden eye jig heads. As fast as the baits hit the water it was 'Fish On'. With 60 fish on ice by 8:30 the guys wanted to go and catch....
Went fishing in the Spillway yesterday with a buddy from work. We saw a gator grab a squirrel on the bank in front of us. He swam right up to the boat like he was showing off what he caught then turned and went toward the bank so we wouldn't steal his food. Never saw anything like that before. He wouldn't allow us to get close enough to take a good picture but you can see the dark object in....

September and October is a great time to get some nice trout and plenty of Reds on Grand Isle. Live bait surely wil increase your odds on the trout if you can get it. When the wind finally slowed down from 20 mph to 5 mph I got out front with shrimp the first day and caught live pogies the second day which produced some very nice trout.

Decided to add some type of lighting on the KC for the fall! I did that and left out around 6 am and went to a deep cut. Was cooler early and they had some rain coming through so I was hoping a few trout, drum or reds would be at the spot. I caught still a nice mess of hard heads, on shrimp and even jigging artificial on the bottom, but ended up with 10 trout, 3 specs and the rest white trout. 2....
