Everyone has their own vision of the perfect Valentine's Day. Some may want breakfast in bed. Others maybe would like to spend the day with that special someone. I personally like to send the wife some chocolate covered strawberries to her work where all her employees dream about having a husband just like me! Lol Sounds good but really I was looking out for my fishing addiction. With the weather being so bad lately I've been like a caged dog. With a perfect forecast it was time to get back on the water and catch trout. Leonard Adkins fished with me today. Started off chilly and slow but when the sun came up the trout showed their Valentine love. We had trout up to 21 inches. Leonard tried his best with a chartreuse sparkle beetle but he saw me doing a lot of catching so he switched to the Green Hornet Matrix Shad which was the hot bait. Tight lined with a slow retrieval had the big trout crushing our baits. We started in very clean water only to find a few trout. Moved to an area that had really stained water but the big girls were hanging out ready for some loving. Leonard and I were more than happy to take them home! It's that time of year to pick your days wisely but if you do, you can load the box.
