i live in ponchatoula. i usualley make the long haul to delacroix, but i think i may be hitting the lake more often this year.

Jis, is right. The lake is like no other. There are a lot of places where you can get on the fish and they'll jump in the boat. In the lake you can on top of the fish and never know it if you don't know your sh*t (about fishing in the lake). It takes quite a while to get the lake wired like Nightfisher, Lordbud7, and Dumas

Potchatoula is a great base for some good summer saltwater fishing. The bulk of the game fish have move away from the mouth of the Tangi, Manchac pass and the west artificial reefs but there still out there. The warmer weather's got the fat specs turning on. No need to go to Delacroix any more
