i had a day off from work Jan. 23, and decided to go fishing down the ICWW and towards Bayou Beinvenue. the water was green but had a lot of suspended particals in it. so this made it somewhat dingy.
i caught trout but only 2 out of about 15-20 were over 12'. long day but enjoyed being out on the water and soakin up the sunshine. oh, and running that Yamaha F200 in the corner LOL

i usually fish the hwy 11 bridge nothing so i tried the shoreline 3 drum and a big catfish it was slow,so yesterday we launched at sea brook went down industrial canal then to bayou bienvenue nothing rode to the locks got two reds.that was it for the day .

from what i gathered from those two reports they fished other areas mainly and not really in the lake. i'm going tomorrow but fishing geohagen and then heading to the wall and MRGO

didn't know you wanted a PH reading of the lake.the lake looked wet to me.

i'll post a report but not really expecting much. mainly just taking out the new boat to get used to it before the fishing turns on

the water that was fished in the Lake Catherine, ICWW, Bayou B and at the launch i use (Rigolets Marina) ALL looked the same,...so i'm sure the water in Lake Pontchatrain is in the 'same' condition.

i drive over the US11 bridge almost everday of the week and get a very personal look at the water in Lake P.

but i agree that the actual condition of Lake P was not mentioned in the earlier reports and 'i' will try to do a better job of replying more accurately to help those who are asking,...and for those who are waiting to see how other's do before venturing out.
