I've hunted with cows in Mississippi and Missouri and killed deer in both places in Mississippi the cows come and go but in Missouri I hunt on a cattle farm the deer get used to them I guess I've also seen a young spike run cows away from a feeder in Mississippi
Now if you ask my buddy's I hunted with in Mississippi they would say that the cows are poison but they never seem to hurt me
Growing up I had a stand called the cow paddy stand.. Everywhere I looked there were cows.. I kept thinking I was never going to see or kill deer out this stand, but I was wrong I took a couple out that stand. I think they get use to the cows.. Also noticed when the cows started moving and eating in the field the deer moved also sometimes.. I started going to the stand on the cold days late cause I would wait for the cows to start feeding. I think you have nothing to worry about but everybody Is different. Biggest thing is the cows will eat all the feed if they can get to it.. Good luck
If the cows are in the green fields no use even hunting there because the deer will not come around. I know in other areas deer and cows feed together but at our place North of St. Francisville they do not! Not sure why but I have been there 10 years and it has always been that way...
From what I've seen, deer are afraid of cows for the most part...if cows come around, your hunt is generally over.
