whoa...never seen that before

Never heard of coyotes covering a kill.
Know for a fact that cougars and bears will cover them. Never heard of a bobcat covering a kill either, but wouldn't be surprised. Cats like to cover everything. I'm thinking bear or cougar.

well my uncle has been having the place for 7 years did see a bear a few years back but never seen it again, i did see 3 of the biggest bobcats ever in that area last year and the next evening a guy in that stand saw a bob cat walking the same deer trail the deer was shot on. i also have several people who hunt south louisiana that has told me they have seen this and there arent bears in the marsh down here. either way i thought this was interesting

How was it killed was it's neck broken does it have bite or claw marks those things would tell a lot about how it was killed

this deer was shot at the camp but we couldnt find it that evening.

Put a trail cam near by and see what comes back .

That is a big cat doin that we had a black panther on our lease he did the same thing

either a couger or a panther. It is definatly not a coyote

Any updates T-Will , I think I would have a trail cam focused in on that carcuss and see what passes back around ------ sure does look like the work of a cat planning to come back

I would say it is most probably a bobcat. Coyotes don't normally do that in my experience. So it is either bobcat or a cougar.

What state is this from?

Grew up in an area that Black Bears Could Be Killed Daily If You So Choose...And with one of the largest Couger Populations per square mile in the country and have never seen that before....It is common to find Elk and Deer dead In the Woods but never burried in pine needles.....Sasquatch

I have found deer like this before coyote’s no they eat hungry or not. I will have to say the sly fox is the one to blame for this. They try to hide it from everyone.

had a few people that hunted that area this weekend and saw qyuite a few Big Bobcats.. they actually walking the same trail the deer was on when he was shot. had not seen a Bobcat at that stand all year. I located this deer one marning and that evening saw the first bobcat and now we see them in that area almost every hunt
