I think I speak for most bass fisherman on here when I say, we dont want exact locations are conditions. We just would like to know 'are there any bass left in Delta Duck?' or, 'Did the hurricane wipe them all out of the Camp Canal?'
Or 'Did they move up river?'
General Info.
Thats what we are trying to figure out.
I can't really speak for any of those spots since we only fish near the camp. Downriver has been hit or miss. Some days you can work a limit, but it takes a while. Some spots we are used to catching them in, there are none. They'll come back it will just take a while. Heard reports from up river before duck season, but nothing since then. Reports then were no fish to be had near the camp canal spots or Delta Duck.
Im gonna flip a coin between Pass-O-Loutre and the west side 1st spillway of SW pass.
Been trout fishing alot on east side of SW pass and everything looks good, but I dont have a salinity meter.
My gut tells me the ones that didnt move up river to escape the salt water are going to be in the backs of dead end pockets/canals that dont get much tide push/pull...
Gonna flip a coin...
Did ya'll find any bass? Specs were biting too good to try the bass. Caught 2-3 bass each day on our double rigs near some roseau where we were spec fishing. Caught 100 specs on Friday and 55 on saturday. Saw some bass fisherman saturday afternoon near the camp and they had some but not a limit.
Good luck getting tips on bass in Venice. Everyone saw before the hurricane how the word gets out quick. Never saw so many boats downriver this summer. We have a camp off Pass-a-Loutre. Going this weekend.
