Couple days ago i got some serious fighting pics with bloody scars. Yesterday crashing and snorting in the palmetto. Today about 2pm i saw abandoned yearlings in 3 different foodplots. This evening at 4:45pm nice 31/2yr 8pt came out and checked a scrape, his hock was coal black. 5pm spike came out with his tail parrallel and crooked at the end and started harrassing does. This leads me to the same conclusion. good luck.

yeah i hunt up in st. helena parish near you and was told that the rut is starting sometime this week.

Yeah that's what I'm afraid of. I get off school at the end of next week and hunt every day for around two weeks but the rut I guess will be ending around then

I hunt a little North West of you around Spillman and we have no sign of the rut yet. Only a few scrapes and rubs. Checked my camera this morning and as of last night still had bucks traveling together. Had 4 shooters togther eating rice bran. Also we have seen very few deer so far this year. All of our activity is at night.

Its just little early because dec.15 is normal start of scrapeing for us. It will still be 10-14 days before breeding phase will begin.

I've been in the West Feliciana woods morning and afternoons for the last 3 days and it has been slow. No bucks chasing does that I have seen.

I hunt northwest of clinton,have seen chasing on and off the last week in a half ,but all young bucks.Our rut usually starts around the second week of dec.If we can keep getting these cold fronts and leading up to the full moon the 28th of dec. it should be good.
