Man that's awesome ! Not many people can say they've ever done that .
Awesome is right Choupic&thats not no $1500 bow set up either
Actually JLS, my longbow cost just as much as my Mathews...around $1500.00. People don't realize how expensive trad archery can be. Nice video though
Awesome video, what kind of camera setup you are using? I'm hoping to self video my first recurve deer soon but my hog recurve video using a head cam was pretty much a failed expeiment as all I saw was a blurry black object and I'm hoping for some good footage like you got for a deer.Yes traiditional can get expensive but I went for a low budget setup, my left handed sammick sage 60#er was only 130$ on eBay new, but after arrows and assessories it was 300$ total and I was hunting.
Yes, the samick is a very inexpensive beginner bow. I have shot it and liked the way it felt. You made a good choice by having that as your intro bow. I saw you video of your hog. Nice job. I would live to meet up and make a traditional hunt with you. Do you plan on attending any of the ARTAC events this year? They are a lot of fun an a great way to meet people in the sport of traditional archery.
@basinboy: i too would like to know what type of camera you used. Again, the video is very good. What type of recurve do you shoot? Is it by Acadian woods by chance? I was considering ordering a set of recurve limbs for my Acadian woods three piece treestick.
I'm using a Panasonic GS-500 camera on a home made tree arm. Takes great video. I'm about ready to upgrade if I can sell this one. My recurve is a Zona Custom 52#@26' 58'amornI hope to see you guy's at ARTAC this spring/summer. Thanks
Cool. I wish i could use a tree hanger but on public land they don't let so i may have to figure out some kind of way to attatch something to my climber for next season. Problem i've been having is I rarely see the animals in enough time to film a shot with the thick cover i'm in. So far this year i've been busted several times because I have deer within 15 yards before I ever see them making it impossible to draw successfully. Soon it will all come together. I plan on getting another bow this offseason. I really want to get a shorter 52' bow if possible because hunting from gun tree climbers makes shooting my 62' bow tough at times. Though I do like the take down refeature on mines since my ride is usually loaded to the max on trips. I'll look into attending some artac events in the offseason for sure.
Awesome Video, Iím impressed with you being able to self video while bow hunting. I do it all the time with a rifle and can only imagine how difficult it is with a Bow! Congrats
