Where is that launch that ya'll were at? Is that the old launch under the Seabrook bridge? I thought that launch was history. Or is that Seabrook Harbor marina? Nice Pigs, cool vid.
How deep was the water where ya'll were fishing?
yes we use the public launch at the seabrook bridge.
we were fishing in roughly 8- 15ft
I thought the Corps blocked the lake access to the industrial? The public launch was on the lake side right?
Also what size weight do you use on the matrix. I use 1/2 oz to keep the bait on the bottom in deep water but I don't catch $H!T and it feels like a brick! Help!
Nice video and nice fish. thanks for sharing
Awesome.......No Offense M4TR1X$H4D .... ICW huh one day some1 will be man enuff to take out there one day show me how its Done Maybe one day i'll get over there
Were you trying to say people arent man enough to take you out and teach you, or did you mean your not man enough to go try on your own? If i was you I would go now before the bayou b floodgate is closed. Bait inc is the closest and best place to launch.
Nah emptyshell I'm sayin that some1 posted a Post and gave a GPS Location to where his or her Hot Spot was And it was a Crock. Its all good w/fun&games. I would think w/ all theses AWESOME Sportman out there, There'd be one that would offer to take you out show the tricks, the spots, How toooooooo, I know fishin Not cheap cause if it was I'd be out there everyday I do learn when i go w/some1 or by myself i learn ..... Right Now my $$$$$ tight My wife starting her own bizness that takes time&i support her 100% Sooner or later i'll be back out there like i use to be till then catch few for Me
The ICW & Seabrook bridge that is being referred too...is it just west of the lakefront airport? I'm dropping a friend off at the airport Monday & thinking about dragging my boat down there and going play around in the area...if weather permits! Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Looking at google's Satellite map...the launch looks destroyed
I seen airport on google w/canal comin from it too off the the lake so Waht about South Side Air Propoerty BulK Head there or rocks or what? Hold any fish?
Yes, Seabrook bridge is right next to the Lake front AP.
I thought the canal was 'Off limits' to recreational fishing???
Can someone verify this?
roost I have no idea never fished there b4&from what i hear not sure if i wana off bank alot people i hear@Nite
I'm going to right thru there tomorrow and look at everything but it looks like the ramp is inoperable looking at the maps. The ramp launches into the lake but the canal is damned off so you couldn't get in there to fish if you wanted too.
The launch at Seabrook is open and so is the canal to the ICW. I launched and ran thru last weekend. All of the construction for the flood gate is complete.
Thank you for the info!
First-Looks like I can get to seabrook from bienvenue from the ICW...is that right? Just wanna make sure before I try to make the run. Second..when Bienvenue locks close what is going to be the quickest launch to get to Michoud? Thanks fellas!!
Industrial Canal connects Lake Pon. to ICW. When Bayou Bienvenue locks are closed, your two closest launches will be Seabrook or Chef Pass area launches.
I thought the canal was blocked too like Givmhell showed. Thanks for nothing Google! Appreciate it guys.
The floodgate project at Seabrook is complete and the Industrial Canal is open for traffic. However, note that it is legally closed to fishing and has been for many years. Maybe they are not enforcing it, but if it starts to get a lot of activity they just might.
Once the Bayou Bienvenue locks are closed (beginning December 17 and continuing for at least three months), the closest launches to get to the area of Seabrook, Hot Water Canal, Michoud Slip,Boh Brs, etc will be at the Seabrook Public launch at the lake or at Chef Pass.
The new bievenue locks in the MRGO are closing or the old bievenue locks? I think the old locks are the violet canal locks?
Thx Chris Holmes for shoring up what I had heard many years ago about the canal being closed or off limits to recreational fishing.
I'm not sure of the extent of punishment if caught and the law enforced, so I think with my luck, I'll just fish else where, LOL
'The new Bievenue locks in the MRGO are closing or the old bievenue locks? I think the old locks are the violet canal locks?'
To be clear. The locks that are closing are the original locks on Bayou Bienvenue where it meets the MRGO. That means that for at least three months, you will not be able to launch at Gulf Outlet, Bait Inc. or the old Eddie's launch and go out of Bayou Bienvenue and through the Bienvenue locks. You alternative is that if you launch there, you will have to run the Dyke canal all the way to Violet, go through those locks and run the MRGO all the way back up if you want to fish the New Wall area around Bienvenue, etc.
The locks at Violet will remain open (except for regular high-tide closures) and the new locks on the Intracoastal at the wall will remain open.
The closest alternative will be to launch at Seabrook or the Chef.
Ohh ok thanks for clearing that up for me Chris.
