why ever delete a post?

there is no reason to ever delete a thread, i honestly dont know why this website even allows the option to be used anyway.

because topics that are discussed can still be a source for usefull info for others to read for a long time after the OP has no more use for the thread.

most websites wont give you deletion access after 5 minutes of creating a new topic and it would be nice if this website did this as well.

all that being said, jls you arent the best person to be commenting on this subject since you are always deleting the threads you create.

deleting threads is most annoying and irritating to most people and causes a lot of great info to be lost or need to be repeated over and over again or is simply lost

deleting

Lately keakar I haven't deleted nothing I've posted, Only reason i have was because it had ran long enuff and i've gotten info i as lookin for. Now only the reason i can see is for that person was to delete his post was that either he didn't wont no one to google his spot he was fishin, Or it was pulled for some reason , And if wasn't me that said something about googling his spot Some1 else b4 me made the comment, I just agreed w/ the other person Because it would ve happen. If he gave general area it would have been cool like he got something to Hide i guess Oh Well

response to jls

jls you said ''Why leave something on here when you get no more replies''

well i thought i explained why in my first comment, you leave it because for months and months and months after anyone wanting to ask a question can first use the ''search'' feature on the website and read all the threads on that subject and can and usually do get more info and information that way then they do from the responses they get from a thread asking questions that could have been already asked many times over.

we often can learn a lot reading old posts and learn about things we didnt even think to ask questions about.

this is why its best to NEVER delete posts because even when YOU no longer have a need for the thread, others can still get usefull info from it or even better we can link someone to a thread that explains all their questions without needing to redo it all.

not every old post is usefull but nothing is saved or acomplished by deleting anything so there is no point to it except in cases where you wish to remove poorly chosen comments.

as to those wishing to jump in on jls, he seams like a nice guy so why continue this schoolyard pizzing match over nothing. at the end of the day we are all fishermen and i dont believe we are still in school so who cares about anyone not spelling things right? i sure dont

most times even i dont know when im going depending on health, work, family, weather, etc etc. when i do go in mnost cases the decission is made around 3pm the day before

Whaddya know?

Ole Peledet shows up in a thread I'm in. If someone had the time, I would love an audit of his posts to see just how many do not contain me or Drew-B or GIspecks. Dude is a stalker.
