Briggs my nine year old son has been hard at it this year, all he talked about all summer was to put a buck on the wall. Well it happened. Two weeks ago we got to the stand well before day light. At 7am a buck walked out on the food plot. I could see he was very calm, he took a steady aim and took the shot. The deer was hit hard. I left him in the stand to go look for blood when I got to the area I could see the deer down in the woods. I gave him the thumbs up and walked back to the blind; He looked at me with a serious look and asked if it was big enough to mount. When I responded yea he is buddy he started crying. I was caught off guard and asked what was wrong. After giving him a hug he replied “I’m just so happy I’ve been waiting a long time for this”. I have a hunting partner for life for sure.
