Headed down to Pearl for opening day this morning with my two boys. I figured it would be crowded, after all it is opening day and the East zone is closed... I have never seen anything as crazy in 30 years of duck hunting. I've never seen the Pearl with as many hunters (if that's what you call them). First shots started 30 minutes before shooting time and by 15 minutes before shooting time, it sounded like a young war going on!! I know you have to take the bad with the good when hunting public, but it was crazy stupid this morning!! This attitude of, 'I'll get mine and screw the rest' in no way represents the spirit of a sportsman. Shame what it has come to. Couple of people post about how many birds is in the Pearl and people flood in and go crazy. Sad thing is they may or may not have even been telling the truth. Probably just to throw people off and take some pressure off their area... First time in 30 years that opening day wasn't fun.
