Inshore Fishing in Lake Pontchartrain / Northshore in Southeast Louisiana
Cold Front made Lake Marshes explode
After the big cold front last weekend we had our sights on a lot of winter style fishing this week. With extremely low water conditions and water temps in the low 60's we focused on areas we mainly fish in January and Feb. We ran all over the marshes off Lake Pontchartrain and Borgne and oblong the way if we saw any birds or shrimp jumping we knew it was game on.
This video was all shot in one day in one of the best trips i had in a while with a limit of trout and reds. As the temps rose this weekend and so did the water levels our marsh spots began to fade but the lake began to heat up as Capt. Jonathan, Ms Kristi Mayeux and I made a Lake P trip to the bridges and had a ball. The trout weren't stacked up by any means but plenty good enough to keep our interest and nice to. What really made the trip was running into the birds diving along the way with massive buulreds and the biggest blue cat i have ever caught. All fish all week caught on a matrix shad in several different color.
Check out this awesome marsh video we have here and look for a new DockSide Live video this week on fishing the bridges.

I like to say i go catching instead of fishing. I fish all live bait (shrimp, minnows, croakers). You will fish aboard a 25ft by 9.6 wide stable Parker center console.
