Inshore Fishing in Lake Pontchartrain / Northshore in Southeast Louisiana
Mixed Bag!
So the kids had off of school yesterday and I was 'forced' to take the day off of work (I like to say, 'working from home' haha). We had no real plans for the day until I went out to grab something from the truck around 930AM and realized the wind stopped blowing and the weather was perfect. I walked back in the house and let the kids know, 'We're going fishing'! We've been hammering the Drum on the trestles, as has everyone else which has caused me to really hone in my 'Drum Cleaning' skills! I figured that would be a perfect way to spend the day and guaranteed action for the kids. Well long story short we caught our limit of drum as expected but what I found odd is we caught a 22 inch Cobia and a 14 inch bass (bass was actually caught at the south end of the twin spans along the rocks). Worth mentioning, we caught 10 very nice sized trout on the new 'Shrimp Creole' Matrix Shad, thanks by the way Chas! 15 Drum, one Red, 10 Trout, 2 Sheephead, one Bass and one Cobia all in Lake P. Hell of a mixed bag wouldn't ya say?!?! Kids love staying home with Daddy!
