Early am Buck
I was hunting with my long time hunting buddy Michael Enloe on his family's land in Sharon, La. I got into the stand called the Gas Meter about 6:50 Sunday (10/28) morning. I was still getting settled in when I noticed a deer in the pipeline about 100 yards out. It was just getting light enough to see, but I couldn't make out all the details of the deer. I slowly picked up rifle to look through the scope so I could see if the deer had antlers or not. I found him in my scope as he was slowly making his way towards the stand and I could tell he did have antlers. As he got to about 75 yards he turned broadside and looked in my direction, and when he did I could tell he was outside the ears, so I put the crosshairs on his shoulder and pulled the trigger. After some tracking I found him almost at a creek about 80 yards away. It was a pretty quick event, which is probably good in a way since I didn't have time to get nervous and shook up. A great memory to share with my best friends.
