26 inch-8lb8oz Speck - Lake Pontchy
....and just to show it wasn't a fluke.....21 inch Speck. Same spot.
Nice pigs. Im hoping this is off the bridges because I been waiting forever for them come back.
Ty...I have yet to experience Trout on Bridges or any other keepers Just my Luck i guess. I'll be out there Saturday tho Somewheres!!!!!
Thyhibbs8 - Yep, got 'em off the south end of the I-10 twin spans.
Livelined a croaker under a cork and deadsticked the pole in the rear rodholder. I had a 3/0 jhook thru the nose and a #6 treble hook as a stinger in case it got short bit.
The 21 incher hit a #8 treble hook dropshot rig tightlined on the bottom. Live skrimpses.
I also caught a 24 incher on the dropshot rig over at the south end of the Trestles the day before.
Nice hobie too. Where'd you put in at? I've fished the north shore in my yak but not the south side. The south side would be a lot closer drive for me.
Nice trout there, especially in a kayak.
Tyhibbs8 - south end of the TwinSpans. There are so many legal size puppy drum there we've begun calling that place the Animal Shelter - you can go there and adopt a few puppies ;)
Launch at the south end of Hwy 11 Bridge - there is a nice beach (Triple Beach) 100 yards to the southwest of the bridge; great parking too.
I'm 'Catch-All' on BCKFC.org
Ha I might go try out the animal shelter this weekend in the yak. Thanks!
Ty - not sure yet where I'm fishin' this weekend.
I been doing real well at the extreme south end of the Trestles too. Might stop back by there instead.
I think gona try Manchac South Pass@Lake P in Mornin
Ty - 'went north' today. Got a few nice fish before that nasty line squall blew in. One was a hugeous Sheepshead. It's teefus was so big it qualify as a Dork Fish! I'll post up some pics later.
I know where to get da skrimpses, but where da' croakers at?
Unfortunately, I dont know of any bait shops that sell live croakers. At least not this time of year.
I've always found the best way to catch them is small live shrimp on a #10 treble hook, dropshot rig tightlined on the bottom. Nibble, nibble, nibble...YOINK!
Immediately take 'em off the hook and slap 'em on your 'live croaker rig'. Let Capt Deadstick do the rest.
Baby Bull From Kayak On A Flounder Pole
Meat Haul From Friday & Sunday
11 Sheep, 1 Puppy, 1 Red, 1 White Trout
I caught this Baby Bull today at Lighthouse Point.
Taped out at 35 inches. Live skrimpses, dropshot rig, # 8 treble hook, 2 oz sinker, tightlined on the bottom at the dropoff.
Les Ratons Leveur c'est le merde!
I tried fishing the Trestles on Sunday and got skunked for my efforts. I think I know why....
