personally i find november around thanksgiving a great time, the water is usually super low and the fish are easy to find and get to plus they are hungry.
during this time just about any intersection of a feed canal and cuts leading into marsh or oyster beds will have reds gathered in schools waiting for a meal. not every spot produces but when you find them you never have to move until you go home.
its the traditional ''fish until you run out of beer or your tired of catchin them'' scenario
Lafitte red fish will hit bait shrimp all the time.
Now till end of Feb. two gal of gas = limit
Well for my trips lately
Nice lil Mix@CFL
Yep now til actually March off points, ponds, canals in CFL North Shore. All ya need shrimp under poppin Corkand its On!!!!

Off main canals from Landing and in bayou blue If ya got Depth finder you'll know
Try fishing shore lines in Bayou Dupont for red fish.
ok, yes I have a depth finder and a GPS so you mean to look for deep water points off of cuts and such, I will learn to use it, as well as the GPS, I found bayou dupont on my map, looks like I can get to it from the Pen, I am a rookie so dont want to get to far out until I get familiar with an area. thanks alot for your help.
I's Rookie to poppincork still learning everytime I go out even though I been fishin the area for few years, If you look on google Maps or bing maps you see alot better then reg map, Just go Google type in Maps then when it pops up change it to satilite image &zoom in!!!!!I'll be down there this weekendddddd What linda Boat ya got?
thanks i did what you said on the google maps thats very nice, i hoping to go there this weekend, Saturday and maybe sunday, i have only been out in my boat once that was this past saturday , went to CFL and the water was low and was in mud most of the time, but did catch a few reds anyway hoping for better conditions this weekend, I have a used boat it is a 19 foot duracraft alum. bay series with the hyper or hydro bow for bay running, it is powered by a yamaha 4 stroke 115, it has a 82# motorguide trollmoter and this week i am having a 8 foot power pole installed and it has a hummingbird gps/fishfinder so it has all the bells and whistles to catch fish.

Nice boat! Bayou Blue is it on the south end of CFL? I could not find a Bayou Blue in Lafitte, I was thinking of trying Lafitte this Sat.or Sunday where yall suggested the Pen and bayou dupont, i read an article on sportsman about Indian Grave Yard I would like to go there sometime but I dont have the experience to go that far it looks like a redfish haven. i will let ya know if i am able to go sat.
Thanks............its ole boat I've had to replace steering cable it was new when i got bpat but it had been sat up for 4-5 months so it was froze up, then damum throttle cable broke replaced it , put new ignition switch in too, Also had to add new Trailer axles w/ new hubs&bought one new tire&wheel from walmart So now i hope i can concentrate more on fishin, it runs AWESOME Pushes the boat 40-45 mph. Bayou Blue@CFL is across the lake to west side you come out@lake on east side and its almost straight across, i never been to lafitte, I like to make trip to Delacroix they been burnin them up down there, Just let me know where you decide to go I wil be@CFL Saturday mornin Cyaaaaaaaaa
